I use a lens like this alot. It is a very nice lens especially on a crop sensor camera...makes great portraits.

Will it work on a Canon 1D Mark III and since I do not know a whole lot about Marco...is this a true Marca lens?

I have used it on my 1D mark III and it performs wonderfully. It is a true Macro lens. This is not a macro shoot, but you can see how sharp the lens is.

Here's a macro shot I shot a week or so ago with my lens. Now I have had this lens for around 15 years and it still performs well.

Yes the lens would work perfectly on your camera. I haven't received any money yet, but I think it is sold.
