I believe the wheel weights are designed to offset the weight of the pushrods connected to the wheel. The two middle wheels have more pushrods than the two outer wheels of each set. I hope this helps.
That makes perfect sense and aligns with my thinking of balancing the weight and motion of the action. Thanks again for your help.

The first steam engines heated water to make steam (under pressure) that was piped into the horizontal cylinders in front of the drive wheels that pushed a position back and forth, that turned the drive wheels. Once the steam drove the piston. It was expelled to the atmosphere. As time advanced and engines got bigger they got better at generating more steam and pressure and using it to move larger loads. This lead to the use of high (smaller diameter) and low (larger diameter) pressure cylinders (compound) that made use of the expanding steam twice before it was expelled to the atmosphere.

Hope this helped.
The first steam engines heated water to make steam... (show quote)
Thanks for that info. Do you know the significance of the different size weights that are placed on the drive wheels?

Very nice photos, but I think P.E.I. (Prince Edward Island) is the smallest province.

I just ordered one to rip Blu-Rays. The DVD player in my new Dell XPS desktop won't play Blu-Rays. I rip DVDs and put the movies on flash drives to play on my TV.

I saw Marty live many years ago. He told his joke about why he played that small guitar, and at the end of the show, or what was supposed to be the end, the venue had to turn off the lights to get him to stop. He said he would play as long as we would listen to him. Great show and great Showman.

I have been using a Ridgid 12 volt rechargeable battery flashlight for quite some time now. The charge lasts a long time and recharges quickly, when needed. It came as a bonus with a Ridgid drill set. 6" long and about 1 1/2" Dia.

Our city has a large mall that had a large Sears as one of it's anchor tenants. They are now proposing to tear that portion down and build a multi story apartment/condo building in that space.

I grew up on water from a cistern both at home on the farm and in our 1 room school. We used to put our butter in a pail hung down the cistern to keep it cool in the summer. Still alive at 76 and all my 5 sisters are too. Oldest is 91. In rural areas here the usual method is to have your garage as the cistern, double garage 24' x 24' x 4' deep= Lots of water and most have filtering systems now.

Thank you ddgm! I'm guessing 'green eye' is a reflection in the eyes, somewhat like red eye with a flash? There's not a flash involved in these images. Probably all the lenses have an extension tube letting me focus very close. So, I'm working at an angle / position, without a flash, where I don't get light reflecting back off the rear of the cat eye.

Yes, you're right about the reflection thing, I'll go over some of the photos and see if the flash was used, and if so I will change that. Thanks for your response, My Missy and Molly before her were both rescue cats.

CHG_CANON, nice Kitty. It seems that when I photograph my Missy, I get "Green Eye" more than I would like. You don't seem to have that problem. Any tips?
