There is no problem "erasing" individual images. Scott Kelby highly recommends deleting as you go.

Otherwise is one of those urban legends.

This may be more than you want to know but: neither "erasing" nor "reformatting" actually removes images from your card. It only affects the "menu" that points to them. They are still there till you take new pics over them. There is software that will let you recover whatever hasn't been written over including from a card that has been reformatted.

Does erasing individual photos from the camera do any damage to the compact flash card or sensor? I've been told not to do this but reformat instead. I'd rather cul out the bad pictures before downloading to my computer 100 or more. After downloading, I'm willing to either erase all or reformat.

I just rifled through a box of vacation photos when I was a teen in the early 70's and found a corresponding letter to my grandpa. I was very proud of my photos ... and they were AWFUL! Nobody, including grandpa, said anything disparaging, so I continued on my photographic path. I wish I could go back give 'em all hugs.

Amen to that I look at some of the things I took last month and wonder why did I keep that. I meet people that are just getting in to photography all the time I always try to make them feel good about their photos no mater what. Sometimes it only takes one remark to make someone give up.

I do pretty much the same except that after I'm done with message I highlight message and copy and paste.

Let me begin by saying that my goal here is to be helpful. I do not want to offend anyone but I’ve noticed several comments regarding spelling and grammatical errors in some posts. When I take the time to post a comment I’d like you all to focus on my comment and not on my spelling but I realize that part of the responsibility for that is on me. I can’t spell a lick so here’s how I approach the problem. I open a Word document and type my comments there; my spell checker catches almost all of my spelling errors and most of my grammatical errors as well. Then I highlight the text and right click and click on cut. I then open my message window and click on it to activate the text box. Right click in the box and click on paste. Again I’m trying to be helpful here not condescending or offensive, please accept this in the spirit it was offered.

I usually have Oreos on my boat, especially if my Grandaughter is aboard. She twist them apart licks off the frosting and eats the top n bottom, with a big smile.

What is the best way to eat an Oreo cookie. Personally I press the two sides apart sideways and I scrape the white stuff off with my teeth and then I eat the cookies usually with a little milk. YUM YUM.

Bridge camera

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50 bridge digital camera

The Fujifilm FinePix S9000 bridge camera
Bridge cameras are cameras which fill the niche between the single-lens reflex cameras (SLRs) and the Point-and-shoot camera.[1][2] They are often comparable in size and weight to the smallest Digital SLRs (DSLR), but almost all digital bridge cameras lack an optical viewfinder system (film bridges generally had a lighter version of a reflex finder). In addition, SLRs normally feature interchangeable lenses, while current bridge cameras do not.[3] The phrase has been in use at least since the 1980s,[1] and continues to be used with digital cameras.[2] The term "Bridge camera" was originally used to refer to film cameras which "bridged the gap" between point and shoot cameras and SLRs.[4][5]

Like other cameras, most current bridge cameras are digital. These cameras typically feature full manual controls over shutter speed, aperture, ISO, white balance and metering. Generally, their feature sets are similar to consumer DSLRs, except for a smaller range of ISO sensitivity because of their typically smaller image sensor (a DSLR has a 35mm, APS, or 4/3 size CCD or CMOS). Many bridge cameras have long zoom lenses, so the term "bridge camera" is often used interchangeably with "megazoom", "superzoom", or "ultrazoom."[6] However, some bridge cameras have only moderate or short zooms (such as the Canon Powershot G9[7]), while many compact cameras have superzoom lenses but lack the advanced functions of a bridge camera.

With zoom ranges and sales rapidly increasing in the early 21st century, every major camera manufacturer has at least one 'super zoom' in their lineup.[8]
