I would suggest getting out ofvthe 20th century and into the 21st. Attach document to an email or text message. Faster, sharper, much more convenient.

Hello all,
Hopefully someone will be able to answer my question on here. Is it possible to use an "SD UHS-II" inside of a CF express Type B slot in a Nikon Z6ii? *edited*

No. But if you have an older car with an ignition switch, it may work in there!

A manual focusing rail for $500?? I've never seen one. Most that I'm aware of are under $200.

I posted a version of this in the Macro forum but didn't get the info I was hoping for.

There was recently a post mentioning a really high quality focusing rail, but I lost track of that. I believe the rail in question was made in the USA. I think the rail mentioned ran about $500.

I am planning to buy a Nikon D6. Is there any rumors floating around about a Nikon D7 being announced in the next 7 or more months? The last time I purchased a Nikon D4s, the D5 came out a couple weeks after I received my D4s.

Nikon comes out with their top of the line "pro" camera about every 4 years. That being said, if Nikon were to come out with a D7, at the earliest it would be in 2025. Anyone being a Nikon user interested in the top of the line Nikon DSLR, would realize this.

Apple did the same thing with the iPhone 12’s. No charger! It’s kinda like buying a new car and it doesn’t come with tires.

Either you ride with the brand until the equipment has no tangible economic value, or you accept your loss and ride with the winners. There's a glut of used camera equipment as it is, so a 'loss' is coming no matter what you do. Smart money avoids ever buying new camera equipment except for the newest must haves.

One of two things:

Your girl friend is either untruthful.

Or your girl friend is really stupid if she paid 9k for the camera.

In either case, if it were me, I'd find a new girl friend.

At my house we try to balance purchases for fun. As of today I am down a new boat and a skid loader. So I need some help.

I am a looking at mirrorless - Nikon and Sony. I have been a Nikon user for many, many years. Started out with a D90 many years ago and have worked my way to D850 and lots of glass. The smart thing (?) says Nikon mirrorless with a mount. Some techie dudes say move to Sony and get some new tech glass. I shoot basically anything that moves and when I get frustrated I shoot landscape. My first concern is shutter roll. Does the new firmware for Sony help? In my research long lens reach seems to be lagging behind. D850 and long lenses are heavy but fun. I have been fixed at the A7R4 for the birding possibilities. I shoot grandkid sports from swimming to football. Other than to catch up and some new bragging rights, what do you all see as the future of equipment - and is Nikon as a company, going to be gone soon?

It is difficult to go and hold and test new equipment these days. Plunking money down and waiting for mail delivery is easy but returning is not. Renting may be the avenue explored.

If you made the switch are you looking back?

The Nikon D850 is one of the finest camera bodies ever made, period. Mostly, mirrorless is a bunch of hype. It's the latest "thing"! They might be lighter, or they may not, depends on the body lens configuration that you choose. All-in-all, they weight difference in most cases is a few ounces. I would wager that 99.999% of the members on this site couldn't tell you if a shot was from a mirrorless or DSLR body. Will mirrorless become the standard? Absolutely, it's where all the development dollars are being spent. It's idiotic statements like "A good photographer has a mirrorless." that really misleads the less informed.

By the way I shoot with a Nikon D850 and several other Nikon D SLRs. Could the cameras be improved? with new developments since there release, yes. I also shoot mirrorless, Fuji.

Any experience in using the new PureRAW by DxO? Looks like any other software driven by AI has hit the market.

I was a beta tester of PureRAW. The final release just occurred about a week ago. The program is to be part of the workflow for post processing. Preferably prior to importing into other programs, i.e., Photoshop, Lightroom, etc. The number of cameras compatible with the program is significant.

The noise correction "DeepPrime" works extremely well. And the lens corrections that DxO provide are second to none. Just my opinion.

One more comment, if one is truly into post processing, you will find that one program will never produce all the result that you may be looking for. I use several other noise reduction programs. Each has its benefits and each has its limitations. Just depends.

I agree. I have been reading review. Many people, some professionals, find the D850 a plastic toy and have returned the camera. i am most likely going to pass ............

I currently use a Nikon D750 and have been amazed by the photos I get. Recently, I have been presented with the opportunity to upgrade to a Nikon D850. Camera is from the original owner, who is upgrading to mirrorless, like new condition, 2 1/2 years old and 11,014 shots. Comes with original box and everything which came with it. Is this camera worth $2500? Certainly better than $2997 + tax for a new one. I know the choice is mine, just looking for some thoughts here. I do not see mirrorless as an option as I do not want to replace all my lens or have to use an adapter.

Thanks

Same experience with Fed"UP"FedEx! Ordered an item from California. (I live in North Dakota) Item was picked up by FedEx, moved to 3 different cities in CA. It sat for three days in the 3rd city in CA before finally moving again. Item sowed up 4 days late. (Damaged!) Shipping box was a mess. Vendor reshipped another item, that one showed up 3 days late. During that same 8 day period, I had 4 deliveries by UPS, 2 came a day early the other 2 were on time.

I often research camera gear, just to see what is new and exciting. I own the Nikon D7500, as well as the D600, and have taken many wonderful photos with them. However, many "camera gear experts" really bad mouth the D7500, mainly because it has just one card slot. Really? So, I am wondering, does the average hobbyist photographer really need two card slots on their camera? I have been shooting for more than 15 years now, have gone out on all-day long photo shoots, and have never filled up one card, and yes, I usually shoot in raw. Plus, I have never had a card failure where I lost the photos on my card, perhaps I am very lucky. So, weigh in please with your opinion.

Personally, I don't believe it has anything to do with the number of card slots. Some people just have to find something negative with anything that is new.
