Yeppers - happens a lot. I haven't even gotten the camera I want and already wanting another motorcycle. The wallet can't do both.

Fantastic shots. Some of our family moved up there - gotta go visit!
Looks to me like several read nothing but the headline...
Yes, the presence of an immensely large magma chamber under Yellowstone has been known for decades (duh) but this new, lower chamber was apparently only suspected. The size in additional cubic miles of semi-molten rock is what is so impressive. The article indicated this would not affect the occurrance of any potential supervolcano in the future. But, since said potential supervolcano already would wipe out everything for hundreds of miles in all directions, this additional source of magma boggles the mind in terms of what it could contribute to that destruction.
Something else that really bothers me - I don't have a clue how close fracking is occurring to Yellowstone but I'd think maybe it could stir things up a little and hurry things along toward that supervolcano...
Just my opinion of course.

That's a very inviting looking place. It has a real down home appearance even tho it looks far too solid to be as old as it appears to be. Very nice shot.

Hey huskyrider, do you, er, ride a Husky? Me, I ride a green DRZ400E when up in Colorado. It's me pack horse for the mountain trails.

Sepia gets the feel right! Way to go.

If these are your first attempts I'm looking forward to seeing what you grow into. These look mighty sharp to me old eyes.

Nice shots. I see he put his tux on for the occasion.

I think rocketride's post gave me a headache...

Very interesting.
I think this would make a good Black and White photograph.
And lose that fantastic patina?

Gotta love those little critters. We buy more sunflower seed for squirrels of all types than we do for birds.

Down.
Stair treads tell the tale. Nothing ever should stick up beyond the horizontal surface of the tread. Imagine going down in the dark or while carrying something and hanging a toe on the leading edge - quick trip down!

Love a DIY solution! I would have hesitated for fear of shorting between contacts with the knife. I prolly would have used a popsicle stick or something thin and with insulation properties. Battery out it wouldn't make any difference what you used I suppose.
Anyway, glad it worked for you.

Compared to what?
My Sony bridge with the tiny 1/2.3 sensor at 400?
A ton better I would think.
Or, a FF at 400?
Not nearly as good, again, I would think.
My guesses, of course, since I don't have anything except my bridge to compare with.

By chance had you lately synced the phone with your computer? If so it'll be there for a restore.
