How about: "In the water. Be back soon".
Psergel:
We'll be out on the west coast in January also. The only problem is that we may encounter some rain even though "it never rains in Southern California". The sunsets at LaJolla are spectacular. There is a walkway all along the top of the cliffs with benches. Pelicans fly by continuously and there is a large sea lion population on the rocks and beach at LaJolla Cove. I hope the weather cooperates and that you get some great shots.

Thank you. My in-laws live at Scripps Ranch so we try to visit them at least once a year. We spend many evenings in LaJolla watching the sun set.
There are many interesting subjects to photograph in LaJolla including sea lions, a variety of trees, pelicans, and sunsets.
Thanks, everyone. I reviewed the procedures and am certain I am following it correctly. I'll keep trying.

I've tried to post several photos to UHH which have made it to the "Upcoming Topics" section and remain there for a short while but do not show up in the Photo Gallery. Am I doing something wrong?
There were hundreds of these critters scooting all over the place
No, you cannot go on the beach but there is a walkway right next the beach. Even being close to the seals on the walkway, I still used my 70-300mm lens. You just wouldn't believe the number and size of these creatures.
Two of over a thousand male, female, and juvenile elephant seals on the beach at Piedras Blancas Rookery, which is 7 miles north of San Simeon, California
There seemed to be many more shells here on this beach in Florida than on the Jersey beaches near where I live.

Taken on Marco Island, Florida
I took this picture on Marco Island in Florida. I haven't seen anything like this where we live in New Jersey.
