I don't mind these people having their "15 minutes of fame". However, they can do it without my participation.
I'm surprised that this non Ai lens will not mount on the 40x. I have a D40 and all my non Ai lenses mount just fine but without any control, of course. I didn't think they changed anything on the mount when Nikon brought out the 40x. Wasn't it just a sensor change?
During the war years, he always made it a point to entertain the troops wherever they were stationed overseas. He always brought some "eye candy" on those tours. He had the talent to take our minds off the war if even for just a little while.
Yelling into a mike is not singing!

I'm in the habit of removing batteries from my equipment when I'm done with it but I usually will leave the batteries in the case.
My flash units for example, I leave four batteries in the nylon case so when I grab a flash all I have to do is install the included batteries and away I go.
Well, this morning, I find that the Duracells (copper tops) have soiled themselves in my flash's nylon case. Luckily, I had some spare batteries so I didn't have to shut down my operation.
What batteries are the best for keeping it together during long term storage?
I just purchased a blister pack of Ray-o-Vacs to give them a chance. I also have some Enoloops that I constantly forget so they enjoy life in the charger.

Can't say I know what is going on with your flashlights but I have had problems when the battery gets low, the light doesn't come on at all.
Sad to say but most kids today don't have a clue what happened on December 7th. Seems the teachers don't have a clue either.
Wallen got it right. It is a guttural sound coming from the back of the tongue. Not a natural sound for any Westerner.
The C-130 was a workhorse in many ways. It was rugged and could land and take off from just about any air strip, improved or otherwise. Saved my bacon a few times. It was modified to do many missions and still serves in most of those roles. If it was called a "Blackbird", that meant it was being used for black ops. Most, if not all, of those missions were classified. If it was called a blackbird, that designation was probably local to the units who were performing the mission and not a general title like Hercules.
Back when film was the only way, I was stationed in the arctic and used my Nikon F all the time, even down to -40 degrees. The only problem then was brittle film and you had to wind a little slower to protect it. Recently, I've been in Alaska in the winter and the temperatures down to -10 degrees. The problem with digital cameras is the batteries draining a lot quicker than in warmer climates. It is best to have several fully charged before you go out and keep them in an inside pocket near your body to keep them warm. Carry the camera inside your parka until you need to make a picture. If you are in falling snow, you will need to protect the camera from moisture getting in if the snow is wet. Many places up north, the snow is very dry, like powder, and moisture is not a problem. In Japan, most of the places other than Hokkaido, the north island, are similar to the northern tier in America during winter. Hokkaido is more like Canada and northern Alaska.
That's a lot of money for a paper weight.
Hope you find one. I won't give mine up. It goes with me everywhere.
Doesn't this fall under the same pattern as the thousands of voicemails we all get. There is no fix. It is just another pita we all experience every day.
I've noticed the same thing. I chalk it up to chasing profits but if people didn't buy, this wouldn't happen. As a child, I had an interest in Christmas trees because it meant gifts. Now, if I want something, I'm not going to wait till Christmas.
