The teenagers will get it: It's so easy to go along, to follow the crowd, to go mirrorless ...

Is that why people go MILC - too much ‘follow the leader’??

The respected independent testers that have made numerous real-world A9III tests are NOT cheerleaders, LOL

I wont respond again to someone who isn't living in reality. No one will take you seriously here, sorry .

Cheers and best to you.

You - head ‘cheerleader’ - won’t.
Is not responding a promise?

OneDrive is not essential to the operation of Windows. There are good reasons to disable it at setup.

You’ll notice I use a SSD.

Amusing dissertation ... judging only by the length of it, ignoring excess datail. When I got my 5D-SR I had similar concerns about optics, but I went directly to work, ignoring all that unnecessary angst and testing. I simply acquired a posse of respectable medium spprimes and use them intelligently.

I use zoom lenses. Otherwise, I agree with you.

Thirty years ago I used ‘auto’ flash, where I manually set the camera and the flash read the return light and adjusted to it.. Today I still use the same flashes - I find that it works better for me than ‘TTL’ flash.

Wrong, we are getting real-world A9III raw images and test results from respected independent testers from around the world. Please do real research before making yourself look uninformed and just a hater.

I don’t trust those who have that camera now.
We will know when it has been released and truly independent people {instead of ‘cheerleaders’} use it; only then will real research be possible.

Like to see apsc reeeeeeally mainstreamed.
Not dismissing Fuji here. Referring to the big names that make apsc play third fiddle to FF.

It is consumers who choose “FF” cameras; “APS-C” cameras are available.

Her project could lead to not just a contagious interest but also a contagious appreciation of what's now available to photographers. Even a few hundred dollars can get us image quality that surpasses the best of what film had to offer. We now have at our disposal the means to achieve better, easier and faster results. I suspect that appreciation of good image quality is a key factor in our development of our skills set.

I learned a lot about composition simply by using my Kodak “Instamatic 100” {film} camera, then thinking about the results.

Surely production models will give a complete picture, but it isn't about processing as you stated. The pre-production A9III models have proved the processing.

We will know when it is released.
All we get now is verbiage from supporters.

Visual proof right there by the OP that if it sucks when framed squarely head on, just messing with the angles aint gonna save it.

Shoot head on or go home.

Different angles really can make a big difference. That is one of the first things I learned when I started photographing with my “Instamatic 100”.

The naming of the different flavors of Lightroom has generated a lot of confusion and continues to do so as people just call their version 'Lightroom' without letting us know which kind they're talking about. The system is broken. How can it be fixed?

I posted this in another thread but that thread seems to have ended so it's probably worth starting a new thread and not hijacking an old one.

What would be the best name for LR to reduce confusion?

Lightroom Cloud/Lightroom Local? (Lightroom Cloud would get confused with LrC)
Lightroom Here/Lightroom There? (Inaccurate)
Lightroom New/Lightroom Old? (Pejorative connotation)
Lightroom Classic/Lightroom Hip?
Lightroom/LightCloud?
Lightroom Swag/Lightroom Cheugy?

Or would it be better to find two completely different names, at least one of which does not contain 'Lightroom'?

Of course UHH will not make the final decision but hopefully some people at Adobe are watching.
The naming of the different flavors of Lightroom h... (show quote)

Adobe is not unique. Win11 defaults to using the cloud; I believe most people don’t realize where their stuff is being stored - until MicroSoft tells them that the “free” OneDrive limit has been reached, and demand more cash. I got a SSD with my new computer and intentially stored stuff on it.

There are a lot of advantages going mirrorless but at least with the Nikon system weight is not one of them. The bodies are somewhat smaller but the weight is in the glass. That's why some are attracted to the 4/3 systems. For long hikes or travel I gererally use Nikon's APC system. I'm heavily invested in the f mount, good bodies and good glass. It's going to be awhile before I bring myself to change.

I believe Canon DSLR users could say the same thing.

Ha ha, that is one thing my other half always complain about when we are together and I would take photos.

I behaved that way when we first met, so she knew she would be happy only by adjusting, because I certainly wouldn’t. She has even returned from business trips with suggestions where I might photograph. This Spring, we will have been married 45 years.

It isn't about processing at all, there is plenty of processing power to do 120fps in raw with full AE/AF-C and with pre-capture. The issues will be what is the dynamic range and what is the noise level. That is a property of the global shutter sensor, not any processing. Understand the physics.

Reviewer/testers with early A9III raw files from pre-production models show on par dynamic range and noise as the A9II.
.

We will know once it has been released.
