More than 60 years ago, my dad gave me my first real baseball glove and a red can of Snow Proof. I think the glove might have lasted longer than it did if the dog hadn't thought it was a "chewy".

wow, great information here. I have much to read from everyone who has responded to this posting. I now have much to read and much to follow research on. I appreciate all the professional personal experiences from everyone who has posted regarding Africa.
Thank you

Just remember that the original post, plus all the responses except your own, were made FOUR years ago.

Things were different then. The world has changed. 2021 is a new reality.

Also, the original poster did post many African pictures in the Photo Gallery.

My experience with "UPS Mail Innovations" is that it adds to the delivery time over what USPS alone would have been. I've watched the tracking info show my package sitting in North Carolina for 1 or 2 days before it moves on. I give UPS Mail Innovations two thumbs DOWN.

Montezuma Nation Wildlife Refuge in Seneca Falls. Be aware there’s no Aztec pyramids in “Montezuma” in upstate NY. Beats me why *that* name .....

"The marsh near the north end of Cayuga Lake became known as the Montezuma Marsh. It got its name in 1806 when a Dr. Peter Clark named his home after the palace of the Aztec Emperor Montezuma. Soon the entire marsh and nearby village became known by the name Montezuma."

Take one of the tour boats that cruse among the islands. Can't name any specific ones as we were on a bus trip and everything was arranged by others, but I think it left from Alexander Bay, NY.

Watkins Glen is about a 3 hour drive from Alexandria Bay and the 1000 Islands.

The shutter count and a pix of the camera's serial number would be informative. Thanks.

So 70 years after you die nobody can use your images? That's too bad though.

According to Wikipedia, everybody can use your images after 70 years....it goes into the public domain. The copyright on work for hire last 120 years.

"70 years
Copyright protection generally lasts for 70 years after the death of the author. If the work was a "work for hire", then copyright persists for 120 years after creation or 95 years after publication, whichever is shorter.

I'm guessing that the OP has made a choice on what to buy....after all, it's been 6+ years since he posted his question. ;-)

Hi, I'm a die hard Nikon user, but recently I had 2 of my cameras do the samething at the same time. When I turn the camera on, the screen on the top of my camera works, but the screen on the back doesn't show anything. I can't see if I can format a memory card, see a photo that I just took, etc. I've tried replacing the battery, taken the battery grip of and putting a battery in the original chamber for the battery, and nothing I try works! Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help, John

The ad said a shutter count of 9614. My concerns would be asking price, do I have lenses for this camera already, and should I consider moving to either DX or FF mirrorless.

Thanks. I was aware of that. Was hoping that a UHHer would have an old. Dog-eared copy just lying around that they’d part with for less than an arm and a leg. Hope springs eternal.

I was surprised to see it was priced up there with the Gutenberg Bible.

I am interested in buying a copy of David Busch’s guide to the D4. Condition of book does not have to be pristine.

Amazon lists a few pre-owned copies at between $150 and $225.

PixelStan has the answer!

Jeff Bezos' company lists it as Kodak Photo-Flo-200 Solution, and one of the reviews mentions using it successfully to remove photos stuck to glass.
