I think if you said that to my grandson and his wife who are both pilots, they’d hang you out to dry.
They regularly tell me of occasions when things have become tricky and manual flying has become necessary.
In heavy rain they always manually land the aircraft so that auto systems can’t ‘grease’ the plane down and allow it to aqua plane off the runway. Aqua planing seems to have caused a recent 737 crash when the plane skidded off the runway.

My grandson is a pilot in the U.K. flying the 737Max for TUI (holiday company) after the alterations were made that made it safe to fly. He had to do two days of training to become familiarised with the updates.

Actually the term "gas" originated in England. I think it had something to do with copyright.

I stopped watching that trio. They got annoying. Jeremy went out of his way to ridicule Americans with absolutely no basis in fact.

ORIGIN OF GAS
First recorded in 1650–60; coined by J. B. van Helmont (1577–1644), Flemish chemist; suggested by Greek cháos “atmosphere”

Considering it consists of "stay" and "vacate" smooshed all together, it is oxy-moronic at best! 😉

After recently being stuck in massive traffic jams in and around holiday resorts in the South of the U.K., undoubtedly caused by people holidaying locally rather than going abroad, I found it far easier when describing these jams as being caused by ‘staycationers’ rather than ‘holiday makers who had decided to take their vacations locally rather than travelling abroad.’ A saving of thirteen words. I did actually do it once and someone replied, ‘You mean staycationers.’ So I guess that’s how the English language changes and lexicographers eventually include these new words into dictionaries.

In the long run, would it have been easier, and cheaper, to purchase a new iPad?

I’m sure TriX will really appreciate your insightful comment - NOT.

Using the word “organic” is basically a scam, so far as I am concerned, as is the practice of labeling things “gluten free” when there was never a chance in you know where of them possibly having gluten in them. The other day I saw a watermelon labeled gluten free--still trying to figure out how anyone might get wheat flour into a watermelon.

What utter rubbish. Before coeliac disease was understood a cousin of mine died from it when gluten had not been identified as the cause of her problem.
My granddaughter suffers from it too and if she eats non gluten free products becomes quite ill.
Thank goodness there are intelligent people able to research and understand these problems.
Restraurants in the UK (if not the US if they think like you)are now brilliant at listing gluten free products and my granddaughter now feels sufficiently confident to trust them and not feel terribly ill for days after eating products with gluten in them.

In our Botswana trips we’ve always carried our camp with us and set it up on approved sites. We’ve never yet encountered any other campers at these sites. We’ve been out in the desert and the delta for up to 10 days and never seen a single other living soul. We’ve even camped out on delta islands with only sleeping bags and food carried on the small boats. This is were real planning about camera equipment to be carried is really important.

Everything said about Southern Africa is mainly true. I have a house down there and have travelled extensively to all of these countries.
However with the Beta variant of Covid, resistant to some vaccines and prevalent in these counties, a poorer vaccination regime and a new wave hitting the area, I would not at the moment dream of visiting. Trying to get accurate data about rates of infection and death is impossible as they are being played down so tourists are not scared off and all my contacts there are saying it is far worse than publicised.
They are all beautiful countries, but even having a house down there and usually spending at least six months of the year down there, when my friends there are telling me to keep away, I’m going to take notice of what they say.
Travel insurance of course is another issue and I find comprehensive insurance for anything it’s decided involves Covid will not be covered.

When I do speak to these people, a favourite question I ask is, “Are you any good at quizzes, if so, arrange these words into a well known phrase or saying.” ‘Off f**k.’
They usually are able to rearrange them successfully and then go away.

This story shows how easy it can be to get drawn into a scam.
However careful reading of the original massage should have thrown up warnings. There are so many errors that should have sounded alarms.
Of late I have rejected several genuine messages until I’ve had the time and opportunity to check authenticity. No one so far has been offended or expressed concern about me doing this.

We have them all over the UK, both very large and very small. They work fine.
When I’ve been driven by American friends over here, it’s obvious that most don’t have a clue how to negotiate them and immediately cause chaos and confusion for those who do.

I have a little Satnav
It sits there in my car
A Satnav is a driver's friend
It tells you where you are
I have a little Satnav
I've had it all my life
It's better than the normal ones
My Satnav is my wife
It gives me full instructions
Especially how to drive
"It's thirty miles an hour", it says
"You're doing thirty five"
It tells me when to stop and start
And when to use the brake
And tells me that it's never ever
Safe to overtake
It tells me when a light is red
And when it goes to green
It seems to know instinctively
Just when to intervene
It lists the vehicles just in front
And all those to the rear
And taking this into account
It specifies my gear.
I'm sure no other driver
Has so helpful a device
For when we leave and lock the car
It still gives its advice
It fills me up with counselling
Each journey's pretty fraught
So why don't I exchange it
And get a quieter sort?
Ah well, you see, it cleans the house,
Makes sure I'm properly fed,
It washes all my shirts and things
And keeps me warm in bed!
Despite all these advantages
And my tendency to scoff,
I only wish that now and then
I could turn the b*gger off

This story had been circulating on the internet for donkeys years and probably that’s all it is, a story. Why so many people are getting so upset about a humorous story is beyond me.

I think you might mean ‘corporal’ punishment rather than ‘capital’ punishment, or did they actually execute kids who misbehaved?
