Animal control complaint

I contacted our local Animal Control office last week before we went on our hunting trip concerning 5 horses that were placed in the pasture beside my house. These 5 horses were starved to the point that I know 2 will have to be put down because they will not make the winter! Pissed me off so bad and just turned my stomach that someone would let them get so bad. Well this past Monday the Animal Control officers showed back up and confiscated the 5 horses PLUS 12 more from other pastures around the valley....a total of 17 horses! They are now in the process of filing aggravated criminal animal cruelty charges against her.
The AC office didn't want me to say anything to anyone until they got all the warrants and paperwork ready to charge her. The news reported about it last night so I feel safe now telling people about it. They are asking the community for donations for blankets, grass hay, senior feed and alfalfa hay.
I have never seen animals this bad...just breaks my heart! The pictures from my phone of the 3 worst one's don't really show how bad they really are.

Are all 17 owned by the same person? How did nobody see this happening sooner. Good job bringing this to their attention.

Whenever I see something like this sort of abuse, the only thought I have is that the punishment can’t be harsh enough.

Yes...all 17 are owned by the same lady and all are in various stages of starvation. From my understanding she has been moving them around the state of MT and she also has charges filed against her in Lewis & Clark county as well as here in Flathead County.
I wish I knew why no one contacted AC sooner...they showed up by my place on Saturday night and I contacted AC on Sunday morning!

It's really odd that she just kept moving them. Why not sell them off or give them away. They obviously were not being used. Really sad and really stupid.

They look like hide stretched across a skeleton. I hope she gets what she deserves.

I sure hope you don’t put him down , let him have a life , feed him and burnish him back to life , he is beautiful , doesn’t he deserve a fighting chance ? Please give it to him , start a fund me page ! If need . I wish I was there to take him

It's not up to me...it's up to the vets, if the vets think he will make it they will do everything they can for him. The horses were confiscated by the Animal Control dept and are being housed at the fairgrounds...they are not in my care.

They pretty much are skeleton's....but at least now they are getting the proper care. She will get what she deserves...Karma is a bitch and always finds it way to the people that deserve it!
