I like all 3 and would live to go their. Friendly critique: I'd reduce the yellow in all of them. Maybe that's how it looked in real life, but it's kind of garish here. In #1 I would use a tighter crop to get rid of all or most of the bridge rail in the lower right, especially the thumb(?).
I have yet to see any "paint effects" that look as good as a real painter. I'd love to find one. I'm both a photographer and painter and I'd like to convert some of my photos, but real paintings are always better. I guess it's the difference between a computer and a soul.
Brings back memories. One of top two most beautiful places on earth. The other is Milford Sound, NZ. Love the painting.
Nicely done on the original and the effects really add to it. Love it.
One of the most beautiful places on earth. Great climb!
Love the S-curve of the water...draws your eye around. The boat looks like its banking the turn. Nice juxtapostion of stillness and movement. Boat and reflection are cool.
Amen and nice pic. I'd maybe have moved a little left to show the door and star and cut the blue thing on the right (distracting). This would also have moved the big door off-center for more visual interest. I love the interior and it's nicely exposed...HDR?
While I like saturated colors, I would suggest less magenta in all the shots. Their pinkness makes them slightly unnatural. Overall I love the shots. Thanks.
Thanks. I'll try to plan a trip next summer.
Is there any way to include the crater? I've been thinking about a trip there but would like to get the MW and Crater.
You might try the tutorial. Go to Youtube ans search for photopills tutorial calibration.
I love PhotoPills and have used it to get some great shots. It's handy with Golden Hour, Blue Hour, night sky, Milky Way, sunrise/sunset positions. I look at it while I have up Google Maps and can see where I will need to set up to get a shot (or if the shot is even possible). There is an Augmented Reality function that I used when scouting locations for the total eclipse. I could see where the sun would be in relation to windmills, old barns, etc. Hold the phone up and move it around to view sun/moon/milkyway positions at a given date/time. The interface is not very intuitive, but they have good Youtube tutorials, which I highly recommend. Great app!
I'd try a portrait crop, 4x6 aspect ratio with hawk in lower left counterbalanced by beacon in upper right. This will crop most of the green sign, but enough will be left to add a little color and mystery about the sign. While it's a cool shot, the blah sky and the "guano" keep it from being great.
