Travels with Bob........Lake Louise in Banff, Alberta.
On the way to Lake Louise one passes Bow Lake which will be the 1st couple of photos. Then on to Lake Louise where we encountered some heavier clouds. Will be including one picture of an oil painting that has hung in our living rooms for the past 49 years. I commissioned an artist in Laguna Beach, CA. following our honeymoon to paint it for our 1st Christmas. Please enjoy a break.....at Lake Louise! Thank you, Bob

(2) I would count my Bow Lake shots as in my top 20 pictures from this road trip..

(4) This is our framed oil painting that I had done 49 years ago.

(5) One can rent a canoe & explore the lake. We kind of did it 49 years ago!! That's another story!

(6)There's a Tea House high above those trees. We made that trek.....when we had the canoe. Lesson learned! But an unforgetable memory!

(8) Meet WHISKY JACK (or Gray Jay) He loves hovering to snatch any bits of food left behind. Or better yet....he'll steal your food!

(9) As evening was approaching we drove by the Banff Springs Hotel. We actually stayed here for one night 49 years ago. A story belongs with this photo, but too long to tell here. Maybe in one of the comments....just ask!

(10) This section is all new to us. When we did stay here our room looked out over Mount Sulfer....shown in background. For me to get these pictures Betty had to keep driving around & around this area as I was out snapping pictures!

Excellent photos and I love your oil painting too.
A stunningly beautiful area that we visited just prior to Labor Day this year. Your photos and painting are testimony to how much the Victoria Glacier has shrunken in the last 49 years.
Brought back many fond memories for me, Bob, thanks. Actually our fall trip to Banff a few years back was my favorite photo expedition of all time with Lake Louise the highlight.

Beautiful shots, Bob. Ya done good.
Great shots. Next to Jasper, one of my favourite locations to take the camera gear.

Thanks again Cwilson341.....appreciate your nice comment & for checking these out. Interesting to me just how close the painting matches up after all these years. Bob

Thank you simpkins.....guess we shared footsteps about a month apart! I can see the difference in the Glacier from 1968. Looks like there was also some loss of trees on the right, back area. But it was still a beautiful place to revisit. Appreciate your comment, Bob
All are successful images. Together they are even more enjoyable.

Hello again cameraf4......glad to have "brought back many fond memories" for you. You're welcome! This Fall road trip has been the longest we've taken & we covered some exciting areas. I know the memories will linger forever! Lake Louise will of course be one of our highlights also. Much appreciated, Bob

Thanks Dave......glad you enjoyed the pictures. Lucky you......looks like you can get there a lot quicker & more often than twice in 49 years! It must be interesting to be able to capture all the various seasons with your camera. Of course......there's many other adventures that we have had during those years in some wonderful places. But this trip exceeds all other road trips for us. Much appreciated, Bob
