Hi friends. I'm curious...If you own a Canon 6D do you toggle to use the focus points or do you use center focus point and re-compose? I find it easier to focus and recompose, especially who taking shots of my grandchildren, but sometimes I don't think the eyes are as sharp as they could be. Of course, it could be that those little people are just moving unexpectedly! Also, an added question...does anyone use BBF? I've considered it, but haven't tried it. Thanks for any input you have.
Thank you, everyone. I knew my Ugly Hedgehog friends would respond quickly. I think I'm convinced that this lens will compliment the other lenses I have. Now it is just a matter of gritting my teeth and pushing the button! Thanks again.
Hello everyone. I'm considering the purchase of the Canon 70-200 F4 IS lens and I wonder if anyone on the Forum has the lens and if you like it. I would be using it on a full-frame 6D. I do mostly portraits, family groups, landscape, still life photography. I'm an enthusiastic hobbyist, but always working to improve my photography. The same lens in the 2.8 version is very expensive and heavy which are both factors in my thinking. Being retired has many benefits, but a limited budget for things such as lenses is also a consideration. I will thank you ahead of time for your expertise and thoughts.
Love my 6D! I just sold my 7D because I use the 6D for all my photography...I do a lot of grandkid, family, landscape photography. I can't say enough great things about the camera. I would buy another one tomorrow if something happened to my 6D.
Hi Pokokarin...I would be delighted to have the conversation with you about my 7D. It truly is very lightly used. Please PM me if you'd like to chat on the phone, etc. I would just be selling the body...but I would include the card(s) I bought for it, charger, battery, of course, etc. Thanks. Linda
Hi SodaCreek. I was browsing through the UHH forum and noticed your note about an interest in a 7D. Are you interested in a slightly used 7D? I purchased mine in 2012 and a few months later I purchased a 6D which I've used exclusively since. My 7D body has been "resting" ever since. I've decided to sell it. I would include the cards I have, of course. I paid $1500 for this great camera and will sell it for $750. It really is a "like new" camera. We can email or do a phone call if you'd like. Hope to hear from you. Linda
Yes...my understanding is that the default site on Macs is "pictures." No matter how many you have...obviously depending on the size of your hard drive.
Your RAW files are wherever you put them when you imported them into your computer. On my Mac Air my RAW files are stored in "Pictures". I can go to the FINDER tab and see that they are in a folder on my Hard Drive. I have LR 5 as well and I love it...it is a work in progress though. I've watched a ton of free tutorials, bought Steve Kelby's book, and gotten information from a few other sources, too. Hope this helps. Don't give up, you'll get it! My brain isn't as young as it once was, either, and I figure trying to learn LR is keeping it young!
Thanks so much. Good resource. Thanks for passing it along.
Thanks so much. I will give that a try.
Does anyone know how I can move pictures from one folder into another one in Lightroom 5? I have a "mix" of photo "classroom" pictures in one folder and somehow my recent vacation photos went into the same folder. The vacation pictures are also in a designated folder, but when I try to simply eliminate the duplicate photos that are in the wrong folder, they are also eliminated from the "correct" folder. Thanks for any help you might have.
I have owned my 6D for over a year and I highly recommend it. I'm an intermediate amateur and I shoot mostly portraits and landscapes. I have no complaints and would purchase this camera again. It was my step up to a full frame, too. Very happy with it.
I have used Shutterfly a number of times...very reasonable and easy to use. Check that resource out, as well.
My thought is that sometimes the best shots are "storytelling" shots instead of truly posed ones. Your posted photos are not at all bad...moms and dads appreciate the spontaneous shots that show what everyone was like at that moment of time. Don't stress too much...go with the flow and dad will be pleased with the photos of his four boys! What a busy household that must be!
I love my Mac Air, but I know many also use the MacBook Pro. I installed Lightroom on my Air and use it for all my PP. I hadn't used Apple computers either, but now I'm a believer.
