Very nice. Certainly a prime location for street photography.

Very nicely done. The backdrop and articles included reflecting his service are very evocative. We owe a lot to these career service men and women.

Got GAS to get a shift/ tilt lens : kind of very expensive since only snapshooter not architectural photographer
Have seen ads for adapters such as Photodiox with shift/ tilf FX lens on Z DX body
Any hoggers have used it?
Can correct perspective on Photoshop but shift tilt also can be used to increase depth of field
Please comment,
Thank you

The are particularly useful for providing some control over perspective distortion using the shift function and over plane of focus orientation using the tilt function. The shift function is easily grasped, tilting the plane of focus is another matter but a useful one and well worth learning. It does not really increase depth of field; what it does do is re-orient the focal plane relative to the camera's film or sensor plane. The focal plane can be rotates (tilt) so that it runs along the ground for example so that the ground appears to all be in focus although items above the ground will not be just like any other item not in the DOF of the focal plane.

I don't know what system you're using but Canon and Nikon both have native T/S lenses for their respective DSLR mounts which can be mounted on a mirrorless system using the appropriate adapter. These lenses are relatively expensive so if you go this route I'd advise having a look at buying used. There are also third part lenses begining to show up for mirrorless that will also direct mount. You can also buy an adapter with the T/S functions built into the adapter permiting standard lenses to be used such as those by fotodiox; with these you can use a medium format lens to assure sensor coverage. In either case the lenses are manual focus and aperture settings will also be manually selected; neither is a problem on a mirrorless system or using live view.

Good luck and enjoy the experience. Here's a link to help you get started: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHeRIYjQDw4&list=PL2Ud6AP-Z5JBYRMYWMv2CRoZSN9P1G0a4&index=1

The only camera I remember with pixel shift actually moves the sensor between images. If so, the feature would not be a firmware only thing.

It's an extension of IBIS which stabilizes by moving the sensor.

No. I did not do a side by side comparison but the Z9 does not offer pixel shift shooting and I believe a portrait softening option for JPG images is unique to the Z8. Time will tell if these will end up on the Z9 with some future firmware update.

I just bought a new Nikon Zf. To start with its Set-up process, I went to YouTube and followed one of the vlogger’s instructions on how to set-up the camera. After some twicking and adjustments, I tried taking several pictures on Aperture mode. But when I tried to view the pictures, what appears on the View screen are the Metering modes like Matrix, Center Weighted, Spot, etc. and nothing else. No pictures! Did I make a boo-boo on the set-up and adjustments?

DON'T reset the camera. There are various display options for viewing the shot one of which provides just the parameters. Press the display button to cycle through them one of which should be just the image.

According to an article I read the current company is the result of a merger between Boing and McDonald Douglas back in 1997; the point being made that the resultant company was essentailly comprised of Boing engineering and McDonald Douglas management. In Wikipedia it states that:

"In 2020, Quartz reported that after the merger there was a "clash of corporate cultures, where Boeing's engineers and McDonnell Douglas's bean-counters went head-to-head", which the latter won, and that this may have contributed to the events leading up to the 737 MAX crash crisis."

Nice kit and the resolution that sensor (with those lenses) is capable of is going to keep you engaged for some time to come.

Having no experience with slides I'll only say that the results turned out well to my eye. When younger, I too would have prefered an E-type with tent over a truck with fifth wheel. One of the finest cars made in my opinion but it helps to enjoy tinkering and tune-ups.

Your sensor is rectangular - THAT'S what matters

Thank you.

One responder pointed out that the round shape when used off camera as a studio light for example would be more compatible with light modifiers which I think is a valid observation. There are just so many ways to spend our money.

I am curious, what are the advantages/disadvantages of round flash heads (like the Godox V1) over the traditional type?

I use the traditional type with a bracket (Vello CB-100) that keeps the head in the same orientation as the camera sensor.

The marketing says it's a more "natural" pattern but I have yet to see a round sensor. My conclusion is it's a marketing gimmik. Base your decision on other more useful features (build quality, compatibility with your camera's TTL system, is it remote capable either by radio or optical pulse etc.).
