I recently bought a Nikon ES-2 slide copier and a Nikon AF-S Micro 60 1:2.8 lens to make copies of slide and black & white film shot prior using Pentax spotmatic cameras to digital. I have many shots from 1973 on that i want to digitize and many I don't
I am finding that making a good good copy is difficult and many times my focus was off.
I am learning to make sure I don't flip the image otherwise the car becomes right-hand drive.
This shot of my wife applying sunblock while we were camping at nearby state park. Those that can recognize cars will understand the unusual choice we made for a camping vehicle to haul a sears 2 person pup tent, sleeping bags, camp store and a cooler. We used the same car for a 30 day vacation in early 1975 Germany and Italy just before shipping to the states
1970 E-type coupe is correct
Great dupe! One problem with Kodachrome is high contrast This can be softened by shooting dupe as RAW then photoshop and play with midtone
Keep up good work
Slides will not last forever even my kodachromes have fungus 60 years later
I did no post on the photo. I will try the fixes you suggested. All shots are also recorded in raw. Most of the slides I need to copy are Ektacrome that I developed. Many will need extra work to fix the color. It is now easy it is to print negatives that i took in the early 1970s. No more darkroom smells
Yes! Worst was Cibachrome ( later Ilfochrome) fantastic method to print color slides which are archival but one step released horrendous fumes
By the way it tolerated dim green safelight did not require full darkness as advertised
Mine look pristine at over 40 years
High contrast however, never used self masking variety

In 1974 I had just graduated college and unemployed. Wife and I took a month long camping trip in British Columbia. In an Alfa Romeo (purchased when I WAS employed)
Having no experience with slides I'll only say that the results turned out well to my eye. When younger, I too would have prefered an E-type with tent over a truck with fifth wheel. One of the finest cars made in my opinion but it helps to enjoy tinkering and tune-ups.
