If you can't find it this would be my alternate suggestion.

Overlooking on the Exide you could put it back in your car and recharge it on the way home.

There is also the air and space museum just on the outskirts. Was there many years ago. I heard it underwent a billion dollar renovation.
It's the Smithsonian's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly VA, good half hour away if traffic is light. It houses the B-29 Enola Gay, the SR71 that set the US speed record, the space shuttle Discovery, and much more but not very scenic.
Was just there 4 wks ago. Although didn't see birds a side trip to George Washington's Mt Vernon (half hour away) and a night Trolley tour of the DC Monuments (many stops) made for some great scenic shots.
In answer to your question, for the same reason I wear glasses. I want to see things in sharp details versus shades of blur. Life is short, enjoy what you can afford.
Don't waste money on a camera if she has a decent phone. She is only going to upload to social media and she could easily leave it somewhere if not use to carrying vs their phone they will protect with their life. More importantly is she has some type G outlet adapters so she can recharge whatever she has.
For reasons many mention it is probably your brain that is actually causing what you perceive as eye strain because photo is (a) out of focus (b) has nothing that draws your eye directly to it (c) is busy as your brain searches for a centering section (d) colors contrast vs blend, and (e) cropping leads us out of the photo. Lots to process at once.

Would it be worth knowing that you don't need the email to view the topics on UHH? If yes, do this:
1. Go to uglyhedgehog.com
2. Log in
3. Scroll to bottom of page to view all sections.
4. Click subscribe to any of interest. You only have to do this once.
5. Now your "newest topics" link at TOP of page will show you everything that is new since you last logged on. All sections are combined into one handy list, and displayed with newest first - up to the minute, not "yesterday's news" like the email sampler.

Yep, never understood the use (or usefulness) of the email. Can also set UHH icon to start with Opening of the Newest Topics as I have set.
One word of advice is patience when you go to access the disks. In this world of solid state hard drives we forget how slow disks & CD's were back in the 80's & 90's. That "whirling" is just the long spinning to read the data.

I have an old Nikon D40X (? 15 years) that has a timer, and it can be triggered remotely. (I've forgotten the distance for that.) Surely, these things are still being built into cameras.
Curious if triggering remotely why the timer? Also would normally require a tripod, not usually recommended on bus & boat trips. On the very rare cases I want to be in a photo with my wife (prefer behind the lens) I usually just ask someone in the group who also has a DSLR or high end camera. I make sure my camera is set wide enough in case shot is not level or I want to crop for composition.

What program did you use to produce this composite?
Larry
I currently use Paintshop Pro Ultimate 2022 but should be able to do in most programs that have decent features. It was just a quicky on low res screen captures.

That is going to be difficult in blending because two photos were not taken from same spot/angle.
I would widen the first photo with blank area to right, then crop you at the eagles tail and right, then save that, paste as new layer over first shot. Your mountain in background will be shorten a little but not noticeable.
While I was waiting for a microwave lunch, here is what I did in about 5 minutes. This is just capture off screen since your photos were not downloadable. As stated photos do not line up - wife has full length, your legs cut off below knee, etc. - but here is what I was trying to describe vs doing an overlay that won't match up.

You can use ATM to withdraw current spot price in Egyptian pounds. Smaller shops sometimes don't take dollars if you need a bottle of water, pkg of snacks, etc. Do not take photos at any police check points. Do not accept anything from vendors into your hand, some view that as a sale and won't take it back from you.
But most of all enjoy your trip, walking & experiencing where people have walked for 5,000 years. Been there 3 times (last 2019), visiting different parts, can't wait for one more trip in 2023.

If it wasn't for the bra strap on her right shoulder this shot would be perfect.
I thought just the opposite. It is the strap that makes the photo universal - is it a bra strap in a bedroom, a summer blouse strap in a fabric store, whatever, wherever.
