Two part question:
If simple answer to part 1, ignore part 2
Part 1
I tried last year to get Windows 10 to use my pics as a slide show when computer not in use – ie as constantly changing screen saver. I have 2 monitors and could never get different pics on Monitor 1 and Monitor 2. Could only get stuff on Monitor 1, nothing on Monitor 2 or same pics on both monitors - not what I wanted
Slide show would happen only when PC not in active use by me.
When PC in use, these constantly changing screen saver/slide show pics would not be visible. Can this be done – 2 screens, different pics (ie not same on each screen) as screen saver, constantly changing slide show?
Part 2
I have a 1920 X 1200 monitor. Could a raspberry pi be made to run a single screen slide show with some free Linux OS and a Linux program. If so, what programs and what minimum level of pi would suffice?
Thanks
I take out the batteries of Nikon D200 and 300 To make sure no leakage as camera might sit for several months.
Never have to reset.
But 4 batteries For these cameras have never leaked either so might be a waste of time .
Went back and looked at data on the three shot DRO bracket
Same image
Same exposure time
same f stop
and
same iso
What was the SONY doing and what I am to do with three of the same images/exposures?
Thanks for looking
Having said that ( as it happened to me recently) I am not sure I understand the purpose of the DRO bracket as I got 3 pics with same exposure info I believe.
What do I do with the 3 pics I got from DRO bracketing?
Thanks
Look under
Menu tab 1
Drive mode
DRO bracket Lo
You may have used this vs single shooting which is next option in menu
For the rule of 500, I presume a 50mm lens on APS sensor is considered to be a 75 mm lens , yes?
Going close to McDonald Observatory, near Marfa, Texas
Thanks for suggestions. Will be about 40 miles south if Marfa. Ought to be pretty dark.
The 50 mm fast lens seems like “most likely to succeed” solution
I am overwhelmed with work and thus little time to prepare
Will be in very dark area in Texas on August 13 - a good nite for the Perseids
Cameras are Nikon D300
-Nikon 18-200 zoom slow
-manual old 100 mm 3.5 lens
-50 mm 1.8 lens
and
Sony Alpha 6400 - 18-50 lens - slow
Tripod
Remote shutter release
Any of this likely to be of use or is just going to be an exercise frustration ?
If any of this gear is useful, does the rule of 500 get adjusted to focal length for the lens or the 35 mm equivalent of the lens?
I'm looking for quick answers before I spend what little time I have trying to learn about things
Thanks for help

Didn’t Mark Twain say something to the effect that if you don’t read newspapers you were uninformed and if you do read newspapers you are misinformed
Re: item 1. Could you export this course to the TV “news” channels for their use as they seem to have never taken similar?
Thanks for suggestion but Marfa to Palo Duro in 421 miles - a bit outside by daytrip range. Maybe next trip
I think
I do.
Not sure I am copying others as I have never seen what's there
Hope you have a better day.
Going to a resort a bit south of Marfa In west Texas next month. Anyone been around that area and have suggestions for photo ops.
The McDonald observatory is closed.
Long hikes probably not a good idea due to heat
Ideally would like to not go more than 50 miles or so on a car trek
Thanks
Is there no way to replace the monitor 1 profile? Windows shows me what it is but I see no way to change it.
Thanks
