Well, that just hurt my feelings. I'm a Nikon man but, I saw a Canon lense I would LOVE TO HAVE!

Get over it; Nikon has plenty of great lenses designed for Nikon Cameras.

Nikon d500-------Lightroom is 6 years old.

Beyond updating RAW support for newer camera models, other improvements to LR over the past 6 years are pretty significant.

I don't think so. You might not get the very most out of the D850 but I've heard that it's so great that you can just set it on a rock on Auto and let it go. It will make it's own exposures, e-mail them to your friends and family, decide which ones are the best and send them to the printer and they will be framed and on your wall by the time you get home!
Seriously, it's just a camera. Take it and have fun!

You may not use it’s full potential but it’s just a camera with buttons for most key settings. Spend some time on the autofocus system but keep it simple. Have some fun.

I read the manual cover to cover and can not find any info on what this is..and/or how is it used... and do you use it?

Used when shooting teathered so if the cable gets pulled you won’t stress the receptacle on the camera.

Run away to B&H. Abe’s is a well known bait and switch scam. If a deal seems too good to be true, it usually is.

When I was shooting sports, 2.8 was essential and, is probably for portraits. Now that I shoot primarily landscapes, I wish I had the wait savings of the f4.

Do you guys think this is a good tradeoff, trading a Nikon 24- 85 vr if 3.5 lens for a wider angle lens and that is a tokina 12-24 f/4 AT-X PRO DX lens.I have a Nikon D7100 camera. Mpb photo said they will trade me lens for lens and they will give me 11.00 more. Both lenses are in EX condition. Is it a fare deal, let me know what you guys think. I am doing this because I can not afford a wider lens. Thanks Jim Bianco

Check the prices on line.

I put the gaffer tape on the outside of the hood and overlap it onto the lens barrel

Gaffer tape! I keep a piece on the hood and reuse it multiple times. Unlike electrical tape, gaffer tape leaves no residue and can be reused many times.

After many many months of comparisons, I've narrowed my choices to two Leicas: the V-lux 114 Type or the D-lux 7. Both meet my needs for the types of photography, the image quality I want and the lighter weight that I need at age 82. Does anyone think I'm crazy? Go ahead, I won't be offended. (Snide comments not welcome.) Thanks for helping.

The D-Lux is much cooler looking for an 82-year old! Get a beret and go to Paris.

Just curious, why would you want to carry 49 filters around and leave tha 70-200 home?
