Yes. That is, either would be good to see.

Hello Bob;

So as I understand it, I post a jpeg? If so, that pretty much restricts anyone from doing some serious editing or challenging themselves. Post a Raw or Tiff download afterwards if they want to work it?

Hello Ron. Welcome to the dark side. It is the inherent evil side of digital photography.

There are the scanner cum printers that are relatively inexpensive. Although once you "lay" your hands on a digital camera, some of your creative juices will become less dormant.

Hello Stephen;

I have printers, no problem there. Just don't have a scanner any longer. Well, I do have a flatbed, but I had to dump a bunch of computer when I down sized, and the computer I have now does not like XP, so no scanner.

Ron, could you help by posting something you would like feedback/another view on?

Evening Bob;

Well, in sixty plus years, I've never put anything of my own on display or posted on line. So this ought to be interesting. Are you looking for something that needs a correction or a photo that may have a better photo within? I've lost the artistic side, so the latter may be the better choice. Don't have a scanner, so that leaves out 95% of what I have, as I'm new to digital.

Hope you will give it a while longer.

For me it has provided some interesting challenges. I usually hit this section at least twice a day looking for something new. It was kind of like an instructor giving a class a challenge. At least that was what I got out of it.

I think more people are put off by a couple of Sony users than they are about any Sony camera.

I'm about ready to give up on wireless keyboards and mice. I have two different models of Logitech keyboards, and both of them occasionally take a break. I'll look up and see that it didn't enter letters or entire words. I've used different receivers and put them in different locations. The mice have the same problem. They sometimes stop working. Turning them off and on usually works.

One kbd is the Logitech K800 - brand new - and the other is similar, but it doesn't have the back-lit keys. The mice are M510 and M310. I've tried different mice, with the same result. One kbd uses batteries, and the other is rechargeable.

Turning the unit on and off is probably the key. Wife used to have the same problem, myself with my mouse. Update your USB. If you have a USB 3 port you are using, especially a VIA driver port, they become corrupted easily. Install the driver and software for the port as Administrator. If done correctly,it will also find sub ports, it should require a restart, if not, it is not properly installed. If you use CCleaner, registry cleaner, it will sometimes corrupt the USB drivers.

Andrew,

You might want to post this or have it moved to the "Printer" section. That said, have you disabled the printer control in the printer properties dialogue? This allows the photo editing software to control the out put colors. If you use the soft proof in the software, you should be able to see your results in the software for the profile you have set up.

I am wondering if there was ever a section on UHH for “beginners”. A safe place for members to ask questions where “there aren’t any dumb questions”. Answers in simple, non tech, straightforward language. Somewhere that people won’t feel intimidated asking something they’ve tried to but cannot figure out as simple as some of us with more years of experience may think it is.
I know it sounds sappy, but I enjoy helping beginners and would like to provide a comfortable environment that’s less harsh for those with general/beginner questions. Thoughts?

"Ask the Pro's"? That is a pretty safe section, or maybe a subset of it. Just have to figure a way to get them there. There is a wealth of info on the site, but some folks can be a little intimidating to a beginner, if they have been reading the post and watching the answers. Probably puts a lot of them off.

If you lighten and blur the foliage around the head, the eye is drawn more towards the whole iguana. As I viewed the original, my eye was drawn to the hind quarters first. ??? A really neat shot.

Could the auto white balance be the problem? I don't use auto, so not sure, but as soon as I got to know my way around the camera, and set it, it sure made a difference.
