And Sony has announced that within the overall mirrorless market, it has held the No. 1 position in both dollars and units for more than six years.

I won't rub it in, but I told you people 3 years ago mirrorless was going to take over, better sell that clunker prices are about to hit rock bottom

I just love it when I'm right!!!!!

When a D850 can be had for under 2 grand, I'll jump on it. I have no intention of buying a whole shelf full of new glass because my current batch is not backwards compatible.

Just because you are "right" doesn't mean I'm required to be a lemming. Besides, I still enjoy my Nikon F3 & Bronica SQ systems. I'm a dinosaur. LOL

And yet when you go to a sporting event, a political event, or for that matter just about any event where serious photographers are likely to shoot, there are few, if any, SONY's to be seen. anywhere. Hmmm. In fact no matter where I go I have yet to see even one FF SONY, and I've been looking! I'm sure they are out there somewhere, but regardless of what the statistics may suggest Canon and Nikon DSLRs are not quite dead yet.

Yep, I just don't want to spend another small fortune on new systems that I don't anticipate will be a quantum leap. You still have to pay a ton for the lens systems so I just don't see a compelling reason.

Like everything in life it boils down to personal choice. As you see time & time again in this forum, it's not the camera, it's the photographer. Laters.

What real benefit does Sony FF mirrorless bring to play over FF DSLR? The glass has to cover the same image circle, so no weight savings there. The body may be slightly smaller, but that won’t save much weight. What is the compelling reason (business case) for a pro to change systems? Not trolling, an honest question.

I never knew you are supposed to shoot with your fingers in front of your lens. Who knew :|

On a different note, not a single one of those monopods has legs...

Size is the major difference to me and it's more than slightly difference, My Canon 7d2 is almost 2 X the size of my A7rIII, 3 times bigger than a A6000 in witch saves a ton of weight.

Who cares? It’s not a contest as to who makes the latest and greatest technology (and what others choose) - the real question is does your equipment limit or enable your artistic expression? If it’s not the limiting factor as to the ultimate output, who cares about features or 25MPs vs 50MPs? The camera is a tool, not an end in itself. If the tool doesn’t limit or enhance your art, it’s irrelevant.
