The results from Walgreens is haphazard. The one near me used to do great prints, no longer. The tint and color is way off and beyond the range for the operator to correct. They said they were waiting for a new machine, but after months I gave up waiting.

In my store at least, store employees print in-store products. Things like pillows, blankets, mugs, etc. go to some other location which is more likely a different company. In the past I have inserted a winter photo into one of their many templates. A year ago, I discovered that you can design the entire card yourself. The big advantage of Walgreens is their frequent deep-discount sales on photo products. This year I got my 80 holiday cards for 60% off. They also have a no-questions-asked guarantee of satisfaction. >Alan

50% off all photo at Walgreens. My local store does a great job on prints, cards, etc. (I use their photo services, and I can recommend their quality, but I have no connection with the Walgreens company.) >Alan

I think you have the 9 xi and not the 9. They are both 9 but I have the 9xi like yours and it's the ugliest camera I've known while I do like to have one of the 9.

Bebu,

Thanks for your note. I count the Nikon F with the big box on top as part of the ugly group. On the other hand, in its time it was the choice of the great majority of professional 35mm photographers. In other uglies, I nominate the Argus C3. It may not have been much of a camera, but it made a very effective paperweight.

Thanks Ed, for letting me know. I have a bag that size someone gave me because they had no more use for it.
Gotta love free stuff. Speaking of which I just got a free Canon DSLR. In an unlikely situation, a friend in CT came into 7 of them. Knowing I was a photographer, she gave me one. I must be leading a charmed life!

Best wishes, >AL

As tomad says, it all depends on the location.

No doubt true. I am fortunate to have a good store a couple of miles away.

I did a comparison of having Walgreens and COSTCO print several images. As a result of that test I chose COSTCO.

Great, as long as their photo departments stay in business. When the inevitable closures happen you can go to Walgreens. Their sales range between 40% to 60% off. One thing we know. Walgreens will never end their photo service. They make too much money on it. >Alan

Walgreens 40% off all photo products. Their print quality is excellent. Prints from 4x6 to humongous. I have no connection with them. Just a regular customer.

Costco has just announced they are closing their photo centers in the stores due to declining volume. They will be online only in Arizona at least.

It's la4rgely about revenue per square foot. As soon as they found they could make more money by putting something else in that space, the future was ordained. Labor is also considered. >Alan

Why wallow in it? Certainly doesn't make sense to me to dredge up and quantify the negatives caused by the panicdemic.

I mostly soot people outdoors. Easy to maintain social distancing. Hasn't affected me much.
