Costco has just announced they are closing their photo centers in the stores due to declining volume. They will be online only in Arizona at least.

That is bad news. I live in Florida, but if that is the trend.

They closed one of the two stores in my area of IL but the other one was still processing. Have not used them since COVID 19 outbreak.

Our SAMS Club removed their processing center also and said that they are closing them all one at a time.

Bad news. They have been doing an excellent job for me at reasonable prices. The truth is that we are sending files over the Internet and not printing like when we were using film.
All good things seem to come to an end.

A case of technology changing how people do things. There are many still using film, but most likely process their own.
Doesn't make sense to have a business if it doesn't turn a profit.

According to this link, Costco is closing ALL in-store photo centers in February 2021. You will still be able to order prints and other items online and have them delivered to your home.

Email I got said all are closing but you can still print online and they will ship to you.

That might actually be better than trying to brave my local Costco parking lot. People get really aggressive and nasty there.

Good opportunity for someone who wants to do photo restoration! I've never used Costco but I'm sure some will find this an inconvenience. If I send anything out it goes online. I print 95% of my work from home. Try Bay Photo online if you want quality prints.

I hate to be the devil's advocate, but if they were making money on photo processing, they wouldn't quit. Their primary (and perhaps only) duty is to their stockholders. That's just life as we know it.

I would bet there will be some good printing equipment available to buy now. Wonder if they own or lease their equipment.

I was in a Costco yesterday and saw the sign.
The fellow said the in-store volumn was too low to justify the operation.
The employees will be assigned elsewhere.
