I was on a trip to Arizona and I forgot my 70 300 nikon lens, I only had my 24 -85 nikon lens so I hit a thrift shop out there and saw a sears 70-210 4.5-5.6 macro lens for 10.00 old lens but like new so I used this for my zoom lens. The pics look pretty good considering it is an old man. Lens. What do you guys think of my spur of the moment lens.I will try to post some pics when I get back. Thanks Jim Bianco

Can it be made any easier? But, some on here will bitch about having to "DO" something. Someone still had to "push the button."

I like using manual mode and old manual lenses.l have more fun using my old nikkor lenses and creating my own pics in different settings, I feel that if I get a good photo I feel like I created this on my own not the camera doing everything.Manual to me is another ball game. That is only my opinion.

2 years ago I purchased an EV, to be exact it’s a 2017 Nissan Leaf. I purchased this used from a non Nissan dealer, which doesn’t make a difference because Nissan warranty is from Nissan not the dealer. So now on with the story. I purchased this car with 25,000 miles on it and have now 40,000 plus’s a few on it and the battery died on my way to a destination. I had it towed to a Nissan dealer to check it out. They said the battery was trash and they would have to replace it. The good news is it’s still under Nissan Warranty, the bad news is they say it will take 3-6 months to fix it. So it now sets at the Nissan dealer wating for it to be repaired and both the dealer and Nissan say they don’t give out loner cars. What bothers me the most is the government is pushing EVs and the Nissan company doesn’t have a battery to replace my battery with, good planning on Nissan’s warranty department. Now I guss I’m supposed to ether weight for the car to be repaired or purchase another vehicle, guess what, it won’t be a Nissan. Hard to believe these companies spend millions on advertising how wonderful there vehicles and warranty are, then when it comes to spending a few dollars to just take care of the costumer this is how they do it. They spend millions for good advertisements, my bad advertisements cost me nothing.

Gas,gas, gas, battery powered vehicles are not advanced enough to be sold yet, it takes at least an hour to charge one, gas a few minutes, it is a no branner!!! Good luck with your car.

I agree, I don't care what camera you have it is in the post processing and how good you are using it.

I see many articles and much discussion here about diffraction with small apertures.
If diffraction is so destructive (Easily shown in review examples) then why do modern lenses for digital cameras still have small apertures such as f11, 22, 32 etc?
Would not changing shutter speed, ISO or a ND filter be better?
Just was reading a review where this came up again and the question occurred to me as to why these small apertures exist any more.
Thank you to the experts who can explain the justification of sacrificing quality by using smaller apertures or if there is a work around , excluding software faking it.

Like Bryan Peterson says, f/22 is where it's at for the sharpest pic throughout.

There isn't a photographer out there that hasn't made this mistake, just be aware and try to correct it.

My neighbor called me over to her house to look at her late husband's Canon AE-1 camera and lenses. She is interested in selling them and I told her I would post it on UHH to see if there is anyone interested. She is open to any reasonable offer whatever that is. They all look in reasonably good shape and appear to work. The battery in the camera has not leaked and it is still charged and functional.

Her late husband was an actor and musician. He is very recognizable. He also produced commercials and took good care of his gear.

The lenses are Canon 50mm 1.8 and Sigma 75-250mm

If any Hoggers are interested please feel free to PM me. The gear is physically in the greater Los Angeles area.
