Thanks guys. I bought a custom bracket QRS-E2 open box from adorama for $85 with some accessories. I am still trying to figure out the stuff I need to make it work with my setup. But just holding it lets me knwo it was teh right choice.

That may make more sense, as the Q flash is significantly larger than a speed light, which is what I use these days.
The T2 at work died quite a while ago. I should check into getting it fixed.

I have a new love affair with a Quantum T4d flash. I have been shooting shoe mounted flash for a while and have lost touch with whats out there in nice flash brackets. you know that kind that let you shoot landscape or vertical keeping the flash above the lens. I am looking for recommendations of People who are shooting with flash brackets on 35mm style cameras.

I would go with the 24 - 70 F 2.8 and the 70 - 200 F 2.8. I have an older 24-120 3.5 - 5.6 that i find convenient event photography but I always use it with a flash

One thing that I did to help with the shake thing back in the Film days with big lens and No vr was to study the way that gun people and archers use to steady there bodies. I recenetly bought a set of small barbells and wheni am watching TV ill ten or so reps to keep my muscle strenght up . I suffer from two types of arthritis and i refuse to let it stop me from shooting .

the effect is called Keystoning. it is especially evident when you point a camera up to get the top of a tall building or the like. but it can happen whenever the subject matter is not square to the camera. is it more pronounced with wide angle lenses.

I have recently acquired a Quantum turbo 2x2 to use with my shoe mounted strobes. I should have bought one years ago. Here is my question who out there is using one to power the camera body Nikon D800E . I just wanted to know if there are any drawbacks or issues when doing so.

As always thanks in advance

I was at a very public place in Philadelphia. There was a young couple with there back to me and I took a picture of them. ( you could not see there faces at all) the young man approached me and sated that I violated his rights. I explained to him that he was in a public space and no right to privacy. he then got loud and tried to act aggressive (to impress his girlfriend). I quietly explained to him that if he put his hands on me. That i would defend myself and then have him arrested. And asked if that would impress his girlfriend. He deiced to walk away. LOL

I am so jealous. i was saving for a fuji gfx but from the initial reports the D850 blows the GFX out the water and it way less expensive.

i agree that the photographer is far more important than the equipment. i find that traveling with a bunch of gear gets old quick. ( unless of course your shooting professionally) because your gear bag is your constant companion. When out to dinner its on the floor under your foot. You cant leave it in the trunk of the rental car and when you are out walking if anyone gets too close to you, you become weary. When traveling for fun i keep it small and light

well the grip for the 850 like the grip for the 800 will take the en-el15(a) or the en-el18 or 8 AA batteries. i love using the grip on my 800E especially for vertical shoots.

i only have one comment the sensor is not the whole camera. just one intregral part. Nikon does not make sensors, but they will design them.
