I really enjoy the sports section. The submissions are of a good variety and the photographers are willing to share their knowledge. I have never read a negative comment in this section. Thanks to all of you.

Good shots! For some reason all my closeup rattlesnake shots show camera shake.

Beautiful shots. I hope that I will have the opportunity to see and photograph one.

I always enjoy seeing your wildlife shots. We do not have anywhere near your selection. This year mosquitoes testing positive for West Nile virus have been showing up in the test traps. Kind of makes me want to stay home.

Nice to see your's and the other's sport photos. Very interesting how each person handles action. I have been unable to get out lately. (Life happens) But when I do I promised myself that l will leave more room in my shots for post cropping. I am enjoying the variety and I hope to see much more.

I haven't any faith that the money would be used for the intended purpose.

Since the effects of polarization depends on the angle to the sun, at 24mm all of the photo may not have been at the optimum angle.

How does the ISO compare?

As a novice photographer I took photos of the 1980(?) eclipse. I had a Yashica TL Electro and 135mm lens. Someone in our camera club ordered what looked like Silver coated Mylar. We fabricated cardboard tubes to slide over the lens stretched the Mylar over them and slid another tube over that. Very inexpensive. Used a tripod and various settings.

Some of the photos were nicely exposed but the size of the sun was very small and the pictures were boring. Some combined their eclipse photos in the darkroom with other night shots to make them more interesting.

One thing that really remember is how much it cooled down during the eclipse totality.

Everyone knows the answer to the question concerning Canon vs Nikon. If you own Canon then it's Canon. If you own Nikon then it's Nikon.

Not necessarily. I shot film with Nikons but when my wife wanted a simple digital camera years ago I got her a Minota Z1. Then two years ago a Canon SX50. It is way too small for my hands. She still prefers to shoot with the Z1. Me? I have three great Nikons.

I have four Nikons and one Watson that BandH sent free with a camera purchase. I'd definitely advise against getting a Watson. I also purchased eight Watson AAs and was disappointed that they didn't last for many charges.

Thomas902 (http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-455805-1.html ) and I have the DX version. It is resonably priced, light weight and sharp. I have been using it in place of my heavier Nikon 70-300mm.

I have found one of my D500's (battery grip) batteries going dead. I have three batteries so I am switching it between cameras to see if it is the battery or the way that I have the camera set up. None of them are older than eight months old.
