Thanks for posting. One cannot fathom what it must have been like landing on Omaha Beach. The death and chaos everywhere. The free world will never be able to fully honor their sacrifice.

Check out the young Pat jamming with Jaco and Joni Mitchell. Really amazing music, some of the best Joni Mitchell work out there.

That's what I'm considering. I had some money set aside for the z8 (not all but enough to make the purchase a little more doable). Now I think I might use those funds and pick up the z100-400 which is getting rave reviews. I was thinking the 200-600 would eventually come out but thinking about it, I think the 100-400 would be better in weight and I don't think there could be any improvement in sharpness since everyone I have encountered has been very enthusiastic about how sharp this lens is.

I rented the 100-400 lens for a trip to South Africa and photographing the wild life. It was a great lens for that. Add in the 1.4 TC and it will give you enough for birds as well.

Let this serve as a cautionary reminder to anyone who naively believes in American democracy, the rule of law, and the Constitution. One day they could come for you too, based solely on your religion, your race, your politics or your ancestry.

I’ll have to wait and touch it in person but it looks like it addresses the autofocus limitations of my Z7ii. I’m not keen on the larger size and 50% weight increases. But we’ll see. Then there is the saving plan……

FYI Wright’s oeuvre would not include anything remotely considered Mission Style. See USC or Stanford University for examples of what is considered Mission Style.

Anybody remember the Hindenburg? Read an article in the NYT this morning on Norways adoption of EVs. 80% of all car sales there are now EVs. Seems to be working quite well for them.

Not unlike the housing slums we saw in Panama City on a stopover there in 2019. Contrasted in sharp relief with the modern luxury high-rises a few blocks away.

Well since the creation of multiple dams along the Colorado River, the canyon is no longer continuing to be shaped by the moving water. Once the color of brick the Colorado now flows relatively clear. The saying once was was the water was too thick to drink but too thin to plow. All that water borne sediment was what cut the canyons we see today. The dams are continuing to build up sediments that will one day backfill the impoundments to the point where they’ll be useless for power generation. Once that happens they’ll be a big discussion about whether the cost to clear the hundreds of feet thick deposits will be worth it. The easiest solution may be to demolish the dams and let the river do its thing, then rebuild anew. An article I recently read indicated this was something less than a hundred years off.

1. of all the articles I have seen on UHH, no one talked about the cost of admission; it seems on the Navajo site that ( right now ) it is $145 / person. Is this correct ?

2. I am 77, short of breath, a little clumsy - is the Lower Antelope Canyon a little daunting ?

3. Since it is not recommended to change lenses, I plan on sticking my 18mm full frame lens on my Sony A7RIII;
will this do the trick
4. Has anyone taken the raft of powerboat tour out on to the Lake? if so, comments ?

We visited in the fall of 2020. The cost was not that expensive but I don’t recall exactly what we paid. Getting into the canyon is a long steel staircase, getting out is a shorter staircase. The tour went “upstream” as it were. Once in the canyon you shouldn’t find it too strenuous. I shot my Z7 with the 24/70 f4 lenses. It was the right call for me. I d think an 18mm lens on a FF camera way too wide. The visits are timed só book early and pick a time early or late in the day for enhanced light and possibly smaller crowds.
