Although, personally I would start from scratch, using the disk change as an opportunity to have a clean Windows install with only the apps that you are actually using.

Hi Juan, what your saying may actually become the case, with the amount of software I have on “C” I’m looking at the easiest way around the change, but thanks for your input

Many thanks to all you lovely hoggers that supplied the software solutions, the new replacement drive should be here in a couple of days, then I’ll try the free progs first and see what happens, again thanks

We've recently returned home from a short vacation at Searles Holiday camp in Hunstanton, Norflok UK, they have a DUKW that they use through the summer for tourist rides from their beach.

Good luck Bill

Hi Peeps, I have at the moment I have a 120gb SSD drive as my C drive (main drive) and its running out of storage space. I'ts only got 7Gb of space left.

So I've just ordered another SSD drive, this time a 480Gb (550 write/510 read), I only use this drive for windows and apps/programs, I have another 7 internal drives for data storage.

So the question is, is there a free cloning program that I can use to transfer the contents of my current C drive to the replacement 480Gb drive, to save me re-installing windows and all the associated programs, many thanks to all who reply

Back in the 60’s I managed to break a piece of glass, of which a small shard went into my right index finger, in them days I was undertaking a lot of repairs jobs on vehicles, and every time I tightened a not or bolt, wowwwweee (pain) so I went to the hospital, X-RAY, nothing there sir (bs) I can’t remember now but it must have 30 or 40 years later a small whitehead appears on my finger (I don’t mind a bit of pain) so I squeeze the top of my finger and wala out comes the sliver of glass, about 2mm in diameter and 7 or 8mm long, I think there might still be a tiny piece in there, BUT, I’m old enough now to get others to do that sort of work for me, if nothing else a lesson learned

I've never heard of that ointment/salve or that type of remedy, but I will check over here in the UK to see if it's available

Interesting post and a strange coincidence, as I googled SS Montgomery just yesterday evening. As Al says, it is closer to Sheerness, that's why I couldn't spot the wreck from Sarfend Pier last week. A visit is on my short term agenda. I love Sarfend, my day at the seaside, as a child on the street/pub annual 'Beano'. For older 'kids' it's famous for hen/stag parties, unplanned pregnancies and fisticuffs. It's neighbour, Leigh on Sea is unrivalled for seafood, local cockles, whelks from Norfolk and jellied eels. The tiny brown shrimps are to die for. I'll second Al's warning about that river, it's treacherous, even in central London, but I love it!

Hi shagbat, all the seafood at Leigh on Sea is to die for, the biggest problem is parking, very little room, we are a bit off topic, but it is in the neighbourhood, and if you’re going to visit Sarfend, you just have to visit Leigh on Sea, enjoy your trips.
You can actually park at Eastbeach, you could probably see the SS Montgomery from there, is that the ammunition ship that went down years ago ?

High beach I ain’t been up there for a few years now, but yes, technically I was born in Essex but my rootes are in the east end, but I love Sarthend, we do it as a bike rally every year, but still beware of what I said earlier, the Thames is one of our worst, dangerous, rivers in the uk

I live in Thurrock, which is about 20 miles from Sarfend (as we Essex boys call it) we visit there quite often, there are really nice fish and chip restaurants there. It also boasts the longest pier in the WORLD, about 1.5 miles long. The article is actually talking about Shoeburyness and Foulness. There used to be a military base/barracks there and a test firing range, long since gone now and a new housing estate lives there in it’s place. The problem with the sand is possibly correct, the sand and area is very flat, so the tide comes up rather than in, the water permeates up through the sand, so if you were out walking on the sand it could be very dangerous as it may actually beat you back to the shore. In years gone by a favourite haunt of Londoners, especially the “People of the East End of London”. Across the river Thames, on the
Kent side, is an area aptly named “The Shivering Sands” owing the strong tides in the Thames, the depths vary quite a bit.

I had a similar experience a few weeks ago. I have some shares (4937) the girl (on the phone) said that I could receive between £12.00 / £16.00 per share, and that her colleague would be in touch shortly (so far so good ?) when the next girl rang she informed that the money was ready to be deposited in a bank of my choosing, AFTER, I forwarded them £5’000.00, you gotta be joking says I, now f**k off, funny thing is ? They haven’t rung since ??
