I believe I have heard almost ALL of these, First Person.......
Go 8.1 it is better than 7 (when you understand what you are doing).
Thank You, I shall endeavor to repair this unit. Part on order.
18 - 105 VR DX f3.5/5.6 Lens..
I know this is not Nikons best, but it is good enough for me. I dropped the camera and broke the mount flange on the lens. Is this something I can replace myself ( I am a good enuff handyman). The repair shop tells me it will cost almost as much as a replacement lens. If this is not too technical a challenge, can I get a mount flange on E-Bay or Amazon?
Thank You all. This makes my decision a lot simpler.
I have a Nikon Bellows and would like to know if using a Flat Field lens as opposed to a 35 - 70 mm Micro lens (Nikon designation) on it will show a marked difference.

I really glad our young people don't think this way. We would not have any Military to keep us free.
He's not crazy, he a Highlander.
Since I was unable to figure out how to reassemble the pin unit, (spring does not seem to work from either end of the pin), I have rebuilt without the locking pin, HOWEVER, the unit still seems to lock in place without it. Go figure. The flash works too!!!!! Obvioulsy there is something amiss in the locking lever to pin arrangement. I will continue to use as is and report and problems for those interested in SB 600 and D7000.
Thanks for the help.
I removed the 4 screws from the bottom of the flash, with some degree of difficulty, then proceeded to unplug the 4 pin connector fixing the mount to the flash body. Then I removed 2 screws holding in the locking pin assembly, and removed the locking pin. So far so good. Need to check the pin for straightness and cleanliness, as well as the camera body. Them we try to reassemble and see if it works. There wil be a number of fail safe checks before I close up the unit.
Help! My SB 600 is refusing to come off the camera (D7000) seems like the locking pin is stuck in the locked position. Any ideas?
They don't do this ALL the TIME. Gotta love 'em in spite.
