Thank you clarifying. I understand the RF lenses are sharper. Are they just the current lenses with the new mount or have the optics, electronics, and mechanics moved to the next level?

Excuse me for not appreciating this post which is not really clear. I use the Canon adapter with my R7 and Sigma lenses without any noticeable issues. With 5 Sigma and no Canon lenses, I would not have bought this body. What am I missing here?

To simulate fill flash, how about selecting the background mask in LR and dialing down the background exposure a tad? Copy and invert the mask so you can work on the women.

I had a similar problem which was simply that the autofocus switch was off on the lens. Solution: turn on the switch. Worked for me. Do not know if it will work for you but worth trying. Both the lens and the body must be set to autofocus.

I have used it with the 150-600 C lens and love the results. The eye detection works with Sigma's 24-70 and 70-200. This function is based upon the body, not the lens. I think very highly of the R7 having come from the 60D and 80D.

Pretty good. Thanks for posting. How did you photograph them? Looks like it was by a feeder. I put one out and got one hummer plus dozens of drowned ants.

Lovely shot. Wonderful muted tones and not distracting shadows. Great balance between the flower and petals. I hope you frame it and put it up. Nice and sharp. Better than 99% of similar work posted here.

I like the reverse head-over-shoulder pose. I agree with you about darkening the background too much. I like a lot of snap in shots like this. Still do not like the crop.

I agree with the cropping. Try recropping with thirds. The picture and pose are nice. What bothers me is that while the body is plumbed straight, the head, especially the eyes, are cocked at an angle. I would like to see what the shot looks like with the eyes plumbed horizontal leaving the body at a slight angle. I would lighten the body a wee tad so the white of the breast pops more and then darken the background a little. If you are using LR, trying boosting the clarity a bit or bumping up the contrast a little. I like the lack of any background distractions.

I use FAG extensively for genealogy. It is a great tool and I appreciate all the volunteers who take pictures. Quality is highly variable but still gets the job done.

I guess here in the Land of Lincoln where the state bird is the cardinal, they did not read that article. I have tried all seven tips and they did not get the message. I see a cardinal once or twice a year and that is about it. However, the sparrows and finches are abundant. Once in a while, something else will come around and chow down a meal.
