For an unusual museum . . .try the American Visionary Museum (http://www.avam.org). It is just across the harbor from your hotel.

The lotus blooms are in their prime.
I just had to try and capture the dragonfly as they had kept the mosquitos at bay!
I was using a Nikon D600 with a Nikkor 80-400 zoom. I was also using a 12mm extension tube to get in close.
There was a small amount of cropping in post. It was shot at 1/800 at f8.

Just in case you might be interested:
Bothriechis schlegelii, the eyelash viper, is a venomous pit viper species found in Central and South America. Small and arboreal, this species is characterized by a wide array of color variations, as well as the superciliary scales above the eyes. It is the most common of the green palm-pitvipers, and is often present in zoological exhibits. The specific name schlegelii honors Hermann Schlegel, who was a German ornithologist and herpetologist.

If as noted . . you can handle the weight . . .then buy it use it and then sell it when you are back. Far cheaper than renting one for two weeks.
The D7100 will handle it nicely and it is a very good lens for shooting wildlife in Africa.

John . . Sally and I visited that nest yesterday late in the afternoon. Too much backlight and not enough of that. Our efforts were well worth the visit but not for the acquired images. Too much noise.
Wonderful watching the parents at their duties. We both enjoyed the experience. . . . . .thanks for sharing.

I hate to be a wet blanket but your applied sun burst is contrary to the natural lighting on the original scene.

The natural lighting is from the left and towards the front of the scene. Your applied sun effect is coming from above and dead center.

You must have the light source correct or the eye will give your work away and I'm sure that wasn't your intention.

I'm almost certain that you are incorrect by stating that the VC function is only active when using the shutter button and NOT active when using BBF.
My experience using Tamron VC on their 70-300 lens allows the VC to function in both modes when used on my then D7100!

Sandisk makes flash drive with built-in software to handle that task with ease. It has a USB 3.0 connector on one end and a USB-C connector on the other.
Go to their web site and look for: iXPAND FLASH DRIVE

It works seamlessly just as if you were working in a folder on your iPad.

Kenko tubes worked fine on my D7100 and are now used with my D600 . . . not a single issue.

Enjoyable, definitely and thanks for commenting!

Perfect just as you presented it.
The car is leading us into the frame while the prancing horse is rising out of the Ferrari chassis just as I'd like to think of it.

Well done on composition.

You may want to consider stopping your upgrade at High Sierra. Mojave will, in the near future, limit you to running ONLY 64 bit applications. The move from High Sierra to Mojave is not loses the few 32 bit apps that may not be upgraded to 64 bit. Some of those apps reside in Adobe support files amongst others.

John . . . See you went to the rookery . . . . nice capture
My visit was made more difficult because of all of the golf balls and one lacrosse ball!
I got many heron images and 21 golf balls.
