I just ordered the new Canon Rebel 4Ti. It has all the latest Bells & Whistles and does not cost a fortune. The money you save, you can buy quality lenses.
Then when you want to trade bodies in the future, you won't loose much.
Try this. Aim the Flash at the back corner of the wall and use it as a bounce.
Also, try bouncing in at the side wall. This creates a big soft box. See, which you like best. You do not need to put it on a stand, just leave it on the camera.
White wall is preferred, if not color correct. Shoot on Program and vary your ISO. Keep it simple. Great results, try it, you'll like it.
Send it back. That is why you have a guarantee. Mine never did.
The Tamron 18-270mm Lens, First edition does creep, but can sent in for repair and they will fix it. Remember it has a 6 year warranty. If you buy the newer version 18-270mm Di II, which is lighter, narrower, 62mm filter size, this one does not creep. I have this one and no problem. My friend had the first addition and they fixed it , no charge. BV
Now, the real question? Would you get the Rebel 3Ti instead of the Rebel 4Ti. $579 instead of $849 and use the difference in a Wide Angle Lens. BV
Sounds good. Maybe we will get smarter. BV
Thanks for all the good advise, decided not to get kit lens. BV
Have you considered the Tamron 10-24mm, with rebate of $50, comes to $450. I am also thinking of purchasing a wide angle and would like to know the difference between Sigma & Tamron.
Yes, I heard that if you shoot birds for instance, you do it in movie mode and then you can snap a still at the same time, however, this lens is not long enough for some bird images. BV
Right now, I do not have a Canon body, which I sold. We don't really need anything in life, just fun to want. LOL BV
I am planning to purchase the new Canon Rebel 4Ti Movie Kit. This comes with the new 18-135mm STM Lens, (29-216mm) This lens will Auto Focus in Movie Mode. I now have a Tamron 18-270mm Di II, (29-432mm) latest type (very good lens). This lens will not auto focus in movie mode. Both these lens have the same aperture 3.5-6.3. I do not use movie mode that much, but would be nice to do so, if needed, in AUTO.
My question is would you buy the new Canon STM lens and sell the Tamron or keep the Tamron. Price for the Rebel body is $849 and with the STM (Stepping Motor), $1199. Lens alone sells for $549, but when you buy it as a Kit, only $300 difference. Thanks respectfully. BV
If you own Mac, just go to iPhoto and share to whatever you want. Sizes are done auto, small, med, large, High & Original quality. BV
Someone poo-poo'd, the Nikon P7100 and swore by the Canon G12, saying that the G12 was far superior. What do you say, since you own the Nikon P7000. I too have owned the P7000 and have made beautiful 16x20's, which everyone has admired.
I say, if you are not doing professional work, does it really matter that much, as long as the results satisfy you. BV
Just checked Amazon. Nikon p7100 @ $309. Remember you are getting 200mm Tele. BV
You may want to consider the Nikon P7100. It has all of the Canon features but has a longer tele (200mm) and cost a lot less. BV
