At the bottom of each Digest is a list of Hoggers birthdays that day. We need some numeric stats on # of BDs for each date of the year to see which days have produced photographers. So if a young Hog wants to help his offspring to deserve i heriting his gear, some baby making planning to get baby born on a the right day. I know its impossible, but which dates produced the great photographers and which date produced the old duffers who see everything through cheesecloth eye glasses like me.

I consider myself as handy with tools, but I would never, never disassemble a camera. The instant you open the body in goes all kinds of stuff - mostly stuff you skin is shedding 24/7. And once you get inside and find the offending part exactly where do you get the replacement part. Lock up your tools, Hoggers.

The lens was a Nikon 70-300 ED. The lens was purchased new. The push/pull was not working but the lens was focusing fine. Pictures were clear and sharp. Maybe 6 years old less than 4000 clicks on camera. The lens was sent to Rick in July, he said he had the parts to fix it return would be 2 to 3 weeks. Then Rick said he didn't have the parts and return the lens. Then he went in the hospital. We waited patiently and prayed for his health. Brenda's major concern was anyone there with him during this crisis.

Rick gets out of the hospital and says he found the parts to fix the lens and would return it shortly. I get another email saying he can't get the parts and will return the lens. That was two months ago. Brenda sent another email asking if the lens had shipped. Rick said yes she should have it in a week or so, One month later Brenda emailed and said she had not received the lens and ask for tracking information.

Rick said he didn't have it.

That's the last we have heard from Rick. Good guy fallen on hard times or scan man you be the judge. Rick has failed to follow up on the lens. Four months.

If you know his home address, town, you might check the largest local paper obituaries. Hope you miss, but it would settle the why. If bad, you should try to contact his estate administrator who could have your lense.

What camera & what version of Lightroom? Older versions of Lightroom may not have the correct version of ACR (Adobe Camera Raw) to interpret more current camera Raw files.

What poster notes is why I can't open Sony a6000 RAW images. My PS is CS3 & 4 with no LR. The only way I can get an Adobe Camera Raw update to cover my Sony is to buy a much more recent and expensive PS version. I last opened PS about 6 months ago. Have slowed down a big lot - thats what the upper 80s does for one.

At that price, I wonder how soon we will be seeing the fake truffle hustlers go into action. Can your ordinary back yard mushroom be trufflized.

The first thing I would try is, after exiting the Hog, to lightly double tap the 'home' button. This brings up a series of panels for all the open apps. To 'force quit' finger sweep them upwards; in iOS 9 they will sort of be on top of one-another and each one swept individually. Sometimes one has too many open apps and that clogs up OS operations. Another trick I often forget is clearing Safari history. During open Hog sessions, you can have the bookmarks panel on the left side open. In it at top left corner there is a 'back' button - tap that back to the panel that shows 'history.' Tap history and find delete button - it will give you a bunch of back in time options. I usually do clear all. Then you can go forward to your bookmarks. But with 64 GB you shouldn't have either of these memory using problems. Does UHH use cookies? Might your browser preferences cookie setting be at fault. The problem you are having doesn't happen on my iPad 2 Air with iOS 9.1 .

I was too brief - to get to the bookmarks panel tap the little 'open-book' icon to the left of the address bar at the top.

I tried Googling both Fumfile and Fumfie and didn't get a camera store type of hit. Do we have the correct spelling?

Gotta back off on the Fumfie part. Tried again and got the site. Seems their prices are not much different than B&H. So knowing nothing about their reputation, I am not inclined to going with them.

You might try one of Scott Kelby's books. He wrote a series on Photoshop for Digital Photographers. He akso edited the magazine Photoshop User. Joining the org that publishes that mag is not cheap but the contents are worth thr price, if you are active enough on the subject.

Hi Jerry if you were getting a new Mac would you not be getting the 2015 late iMac 27 with a 5k screen??? The memory upgrade is simple on that machine, you should watch the video on that! I will be buying one of those with a fusion drive and 8 gb of memory and doing my own memory upgrade.

I agree Apple's memory pricing is ridiculous!!!

Other World Computing (www.macsales.com) carries a large number of Mac necessities, so you might RAM price compare there.
