My girlfriend Brenda sent Rick Riggins a lens for repair in July. Yea we all know he was in the hospital. In September and October Rickm said he returned the lens because he couldn't fix it. Thats fine just return the lens.

Last month Rick said he returned the lens but when ask for the shipping information he said he could find it. LIAR LIAR. We are noe going to the police and the better business bureau.

Please don't send your camera gear to RICK RIGGINS for repair.

Not very jolly here...

RG may have genuinely misplaced administrative papers when he moved.

Been moving every three years for about... 40 years and sometimes I do not find stuff for months (if ever) after a move...

Not a valid excuse for you, I understand but patience is a virtue. Take a deep breath and give him a chance to look and reorganize himself.

I know Rick has had a great standing here in the past, but regardless of health conditions, moves and such, he seems to continue to layer himself with troubles.

I really hope this improves but there seems to be a trend that is unfavorable unfortunately.

I'm not looking for a fight, it's merely an observation.

Brock - What is the lens you are missing? What issue caused you to send the lens in for repair? Approximately (rough estimate) how long had you had it? Had you purchased it new or used/refurbished?

Most of us have been ill, I suspect all of us have moved, and tried to sort our stuff out afterward. Imagine, if you will, being ill, moving, not being well yet and trying to sort out the mess. Not just household and personal stuff but a business too. Daunting. Getting all excited, serious reactions, will they help? Doubt it -- just tougher for all concerned. All things come to him who waits. I'm fine with waiting. It isn't about me.

And my calm questions to the OP were not about criticizing the OP. I have not used Rick's services personally, but from numerous prior posts from/about him, he sounds like an honest guy trying to navigate some very difficult times. Just asking for clarification about what is missing.

My comment wasn't about you either! I quote when it is.

The lens was a Nikon 70-300 ED. The lens was purchased new. The push/pull was not working but the lens was focusing fine. Pictures were clear and sharp. Maybe 6 years old less than 4000 clicks on camera. The lens was sent to Rick in July, he said he had the parts to fix it return would be 2 to 3 weeks. Then Rick said he didn't have the parts and return the lens. Then he went in the hospital. We waited patiently and prayed for his health. Brenda's major concern was anyone there with him during this crisis.

Rick gets out of the hospital and says he found the parts to fix the lens and would return it shortly. I get another email saying he can't get the parts and will return the lens. That was two months ago. Brenda sent another email asking if the lens had shipped. Rick said yes she should have it in a week or so, One month later Brenda emailed and said she had not received the lens and ask for tracking information.

Rick said he didn't have it.

That's the last we have heard from Rick. Good guy fallen on hard times or scan man you be the judge. Rick has failed to follow up on the lens. Four months.

I really don't think this is any of your business. The dealing is between Rick Riggins and brenda,

Brenda and I don't need help in selected a another lens. Actually she purchased another lens from Nikon. The issue is that Rick is a scam artist and the legal paper work has been started.

I think the fact that by you putting it out here on the forum, you're making your "business" public. Can't have it both ways.....

Brock - Before you jump all over my withered old ass, you might speak with Brenda regarding subsequent PMs and emails she and I exchanged yesterday. I was sympathetic to your high frustration and was actually going to BUY another lens for you and Brenda in the true spirit of UHH. Purchase would have been made with my own money and without any expectations on my part. My questions (which you failed to answer clearly) were simply an effort to be sure I was going to order the right lens for Brenda's camera. Do you still hate me, kid? Have a nice holiday season. /Ralph Wallace
