I have used Black Rapid system for over a year without a problem. I make a habit of checking to make sure the tripod mounted screw is on tight every time I use my cameras.
I also take a cheap notebook along and load the images on to the laptop hard drive every night. When I am in a free wifi zone I upload them to my cloud storage 'Pogoplug' located at home. More info on Pogoplug here:

Some of my best photo deals have been at B&H and it is widely guarded as one of the best retailers anywhere. I don't think they are going to cry about you taking your $$$'s elsewhere.
I take photos every day. It is a great excuse to get out and about. Some days I only take a handful on other days several hundred, depending what I come across.
