I went to this location last week, sad to see the nest did not last over the winter with one bird sitting on the platform. I went back this week happy to see them rebuilding the nest. Even bringing in lunch!

I used a Nikon D500 with a 150-600 Tamron G2 lens.

What does the update fix? If it is just to give the ability to read newer camera raw codes, most of us don't need it.

The A7iii had the eye af for humans. This new update adds it for dogs/cats. I tried it on a dog, works great. They will be coming out with af for other animals...hopefully in time for my trip to Africa this summer! The update also adds a built-in interval timer.

Definitely worth the update!!!

I love Cuba, have been there twice. I am co-leading a photo tour there next January. We will go to Vinales, Havana and Trinidad. It is a beautiful country, the people are so happy to see Americans.
It is a safe country, the food is great. Enjoy!

I have a friend that lives in Sarapiqui, Costa Rica. He is an amazing photographer and guide. Not sure if you want to go there. A great place to stay is Selva Verde. Lots of ops right there to photograph birds & monkeys. This is one of the images I took while staying at that lodge.

I have been there a couple of times. It is a great place to photograph. I did use a tripod, for a small fee. It can be dark and there are some wet areas. They keep renovating it. It is very large, shaped like a wagon wheel, you can explore so many areas. The history is very interested.
There is a great place to eat right across the street.
Here is a link to some of my images.

While in DC be sure to check out the The American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial. It is the only memorial to living vets. Great to photograph it at night.

** It is the first national memorial dedicated solely to disabled veterans, paying tribute to the hidden and visible disabilities from all conflicts and all branches of service.**

Hoodman Lens cleanse wipes are great. There are 2 in a package, one wet one and one dry one.

I also have the A7111 and the A6500. I have the 16-70 f4 on the 6500 and the 24-105 on the A7111. I also have the Sony 100-400 with the 1.4 teleconverter for wildlife. This is the combo I will be taking to Kenya in the summer.
I am a long time Nikon user and have 2 Nikons with lenses. I do find I am using my Sony's more and more. Love the quick focus, eye focus and the in camera stabilization.

Hi,
yes it is still available and would work great with your cropped camera, giving you a bit more reach.
