Well definintely unamimous. The duck shot is great. I agree with the background as sinatraman says, it just works very well.

I liked the first one. This due to the leading lines as ward5311 pointed out. I liked the way the keels of the boats directed my eyes to the setting sun. I have not trained my eyes to catch tilted horizons yet, so I missed that. Still a nice shot IMO

In reading Bryan Peterson's "Understanding Exposure" what I would have tried in this situation is this. If you composed your shot in the position of the photo the camera ajusted exposure in the dark tree area. Bryan suggests to set your exposure by pointing into the sky above the trees. Press your shutter button to set exposure and focus. Hold the button while recomposing for the shot you want then release the shutter. If you have not read the book try getting a copy. Bryan expains everything and makes it easy to understand.

In my opinion first do not use any of that stuff. Get a decent microfibre cloth and use only it. A good microfibre cloth will do a great job cleaning lenses and filters without using liquids. Fingerprints and skin oils come right off. I've been told that various liquids can harm the coatings on the lens and filters. I believe this to be true as I used this stuff on a filter and it went all foggy looking. I now use only microfibre for my optics and my eyeglasses. When surfaces don't come clean anymore through it in the wash and its ready to go again.

I can't help but agreeing with everyone on shot #3. The expression is perfect for the hat. Look out the GodFather is back LOL. The young lady shots are very good as well.

Raider Fan, watch the chrome. I see you at least 4 times in the fourth shot. Un-noticed reflection in chrome can really spoil a good shot. I learned that the hard way. Got a very unacceptable reflection more that once in a shiny bumper.

Try using a CPL filter to remove some reflection from the water. May also help with focus into the water.

This was a 2 minute exposure using my 10 stop ND filter and a grad ND filter.

This may be the wrong place to ask this question but I will anyway. You say you used a 10 stop ND filter. I have 3 ND filters and they are marked as 0.3, 0.6 and 1.2. How do I know how many stops they are?

The Canon EF 50mm 1.8 MK II was the first lens I owned. I bought it with my first camera an EOS 650. I was leaving for a 2 month business trip to Hawaii and was not going to go without a camera. This was almost twenty years ago. Both the lense and the camera are still in use and I've had no issues what so ever. I actually have both versions of this lens now. The MK I with metal mount and distance scale and the MK II "Plastic Fantastic" as some refer it. There are lots of MK I lenses out there try to find a good one if you can.

That should be One Delta One Oscar Tango. Single syllable words are never used for radio chatter, and for accuracy, 99% of selected words have no rhyming words.

I certainly beg to differ, the letter G = golf, the letter M = Mike this is correct phonetics each of these. Guess what... 1 syllable

Is this made by Canon? Doesn't show up in their lineup

There is in fact a EF S 10-22 f3.5-4.5 USM lens in Canon's line up. It was released in November 2004. I do not see any EF-S lenses in the L or Luxury category. This is the only lens found with the 10-22 focal length.
