When you say you want government to take over something and run it, you had better look at all the things that government does well. After you do that, please list them so that we all will know the answers. The only thing that govt does reasonably well is the military. This is only because we have private industry backing them up with their armaments and supplies.Other than that, name me one thing govt does well. This is a serious question, so I don't want to hear about your dogcatcher.
Why don't we raise the minimum wage to $30.00? We need to help the poor to get a piece of the pie. Better yet, let's make the wage $50.00 per hour plus benefits and make the employer pay the entire social security tax instead of half of it. The employer should also pay the income taxes on the wages too. This way, the poor worker would be able to eat better at Applebee's instead of Mcdonalds.
You really don't get the irony here. This was to show you how much you really know about running a business. I have been self-employed for all my adult life and have been able to supply work for families and see them grow. I have yet to see a poor person or a person who only aspires to a minimum wage job give anyone else a job and pay them. I was trying to illustrate your absurdity by being absurd. I agree with you Sarge69. Management should have their pay cut to minimum wage. They do nothing to earn their money. All they do is get on the backs of the real workers and put them down. The owners are the same. They do nothing for their money. So we should let the workers provide the jobs and businesses and throw out all management and owners.

I too served in the service, but I did it out of a sense of duty to my country and her citizens. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life and I am proud and glad that I had the opportunity.

I agree with you F16. China would never spy on us. They are a very open and trusting country, unlike us. Russia is the same. We are such a terrible and untrusting nation and should have our wrists slapped down at all times. We should also give up our nukes and shut down our military and bring our troops home. Why should we try to protect these other countries? We will soon not be free anymore so maybe China and Russia can bail us out when we go under.
