Would You Pay More For A Big Mac?

A recent study (referenced below) shows that if McDonald's doubled the salary of every employee, including its CEO, the price of a Big Mac would increase by 68 cents. Would you be willing to pay 68 cents more for your Big Mac to guarantee that every McDonald's employee was making a living wage?

No, I think the prices they charge for just the sandwiches are already too high. Cheers.

Well, I don't eat fast food much, but yes, I would be willing to an increase in prices in all restaurants in order for people to have a living wage. When people have more money, they spend more money, so those they buy from have more money and so on and so on up the ladder. People complain about govt. handouts to the poor, but companies purposely don't pay a living wage so that the company profits continue to increase at the expense of the worker. I can't see how increasing the minimum wage is a bad thing. Australia increased its mw a time ago and right now, they have one of the most stable economies around. Their mw is in the 12-14 dollar range, I believe.

I think that poverty is a condition that leads to drug abuse, spouse abuse, child abuse, murder, robbery, and all other things that decimate a society. And people working three jobs in order to make a living wage for a family of four while one-three percent of the population has 70% of the money is not a good thing, leading in fact, to conditions we now see in this country and it's only getting worse. jmo

I don't eat their OVERPRICED CRAP. THese guys should all be in jail for defrauding the public, especially children. Their slick advertising campaigns are quite deceptive. I saw a New! Bacon Cheeseburger on the TV. It was about 5 inches high, loaded with savory bacon, two juicy all beef patties about an inch thick each, two slices of American cheese, crisp iceberg lettuce, red ripe beefsteak tomato, special sauce on a sesame seed bun.
Well, I was out one day and it was about lunch time. I was near the golden arches and decided to try their new, wonderful burger. A I pulled in there were huge posters on the windows enticing me to try one.
I took one home. It looked like someone sat on it. It was about two inches thick, all dried out, a real piece of s_ _t!
My dog wouldn't even eat it and my dog has eaten cat poop! Guess what, it was only $4.27 with tax.      :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

The actual burger

You seem like a very nice concerned person. However where do you think the money for that increase comes from? It comes from YOU and ME. You and I will have less to spend when prices go up. Raising the minimum wage does nothing more than drive up inflation, so we all lose including the person who got he raise. Working at McDonalds or Wal-Mart was never suppose to provide a living wage, only supplemental income. You want to earn a living wage...get an education and find a job that pays one. My two cents. Thank you.

Umm, that's 2 different sandwiches there. Top picture is the Big Mac, the second one is the bacon burger. Just saying. But I get your point. They NEVER look like what the ads portray. I agree 100%. Cheers.

My son was a waiter at Red Lobster and then Posadas. Waiter's, of course, don't even make minimum wage but survive on tips. The problem was that a portion of the demographic were very poor tippers and he was lucky to make $10 an hour. So, if this "livable wage" were to go through at fast food places, look for mandatory tips elsewhere.

I would pay the .68 cents more IF I knew the employees got it and not management taking .30 for themselves.

You know your burgers flathead. Me too. Nothing better than a GOOD cheeseburger! I was wondering if someone would pick up on that. That's the closest I could find that resembled burgers in question. Peace.
