Yeah, college sports in the US is crazy and deeply corrupt. But I don't see how that would lead to its demise. Personally I don't see how anything can stop it short of a government take-over. And that won't ever happen.

If there is corruption in college level sports, what guarantees it is not also present in professional and major league sports? With the high prices for sporting events, all the hype, the huge and outrageous salaries for the players, the cost of stadiums, and on and on, can corruption be ruled out completely?

Obviously I am not a huge sports fan. However, I can appreciate that many people do get much enjoyment from watching and rooting sports. Comments are sure to be made, but please don't be too harsh, let's keep it civil.

Before you tell me that this should be in the "AI Artistry & Creation" section, I did initially post this only to that AI section. The owner of the AI section sent me a PM stating "Your topic AI Crucifixion was deleted. Please do not post christian imagery in this section." REALLY??? I checked the "Please read" post in the AI section, and it showed nothing about religious imagery. I wonder if the owner of that section is anti-Christian?

So, re-posting it here...we regularly see pictures here of churches and other religious topics. The images shown were created using Bing Creator AI using the text: "Crucifixion on Calvary, with 2 additional crosses for thieves, sky background, saying INRI on top of Jesus' cross, with Mary, Martha, St. John, Roman Soldiers." There were several images created, and here are the best of the lot. Note that in the last 2 shown, it put the INRI (which translated is: Jesus of Nazareth King of the Jews) onto to thieves crosses, so I blurred those out in post.
Before you tell me that this should be in the &quo... (show quote)

I'm not a fan of AI images as substitution for actual photographs. That having been typed, I can accept AI as a substitution for a painting of a historical event for which no photographs would be available. In this case, I find the images very well composed, relatively appropriate and very impressive. Also, as a Christian I appreciate the message conveyed by the images. Thank you for insuring they are available for review and comment.

Bottom line: we have no control over when we die. It has been determined by a power much greater than us. When it is our time, we will leave this little, revolving ball of dirt.

I have asked myself this recently and I am reading a book that among other things, promises to “ and finish with how to find your purpose in photography.”

That is a bold claim and something I have asked myself more than once. There is no single answer of course, because it is subjective subject.

So I am curious, what do readers here say in response to “What is your purpose in photography?“

My name says it for me. I enjoy seeing my photographs and remembering the event or incident that prompted me to capture the scene and it is a hobby which I keep learning .

I've been partial toward the early 50s Chevys ever since I had a '54 sedan back in HS.

Driving yesterday, I saw a bike rider far from away because he was wearing dayglow yellow/green coverings on his feet. He also had a red light on the back of his bike. Smart, and I bet he stopped riding when it got dark.

There are few bicycle riders who take those precautions. In an attempt to decrease bicycle/automobile accidents, Pennsylvania has a law on the books which requires that motorists maintain at least a ten feet distance of the vehicle from the bicyclist, even if that requires crossing the center line. Many towns have placed pavement painting indicating bicycles may use the entire lane for travel. I can see so many ways that that law may not be as safe as it intends.

That is one very beautiful car. The contour, the subtle flames, and contrast of (what appears to me as) matt paint on the skirts. The wheels are well designed. I also love the the wide white walls. Gorgeous.

Similar here. A couple of them have been confiscated because I forgot to leave it in my car and entered someplace that did not allow them to enter. my latest was the helicopter that carried me to a trauma center after my motorcycle accident wouldn't let me keep it on me. One of the ambulance crew that got me to the helipad said he'd hold it for me, but that was a lie. I had to buy another one. None of them had any sentimental value so no real loss.

Man, these folks are spending a huge amount of money on ads! You can hardly watch TV without one of their ads coming up in just about every break and I get at least 20 to 30 e-mail ads a week as well. Now they have even re-branded the product to pull in male customers by calling it "Mando." Personally, I would rather stink than buy this product due to all the annoying ads! Just wondering if anyone else here is sick of hearing about it as well and needed to vent a bit. Good luck and good photography to all.

I cannot say I've seen the "Mando" ads, but the worst one I see entirely too much is the full figured gal in her underwear saying, "My armpits are not the only things that stink."

Advertisers have gone way over the limits of decency and decorum.

They should get over it. It was an amateur shot tidied up like most of us do.

Agreed. Kate had no obligation to release that photo, adjusted or not and the media has no right to criticize her for allowing it to be published. An unaltered photo by paparazzi's of her and the children would have been bought for a large sum of money and would not have been criticized for out of focus or even blurry subjects due to camera movement. Yet, she voluntarily provides a nice photo of her and her children, the media goes crazy over some minor adjustments.

The media needs to get an update on reality.

Who really cares.

I agree. I'd be willing to bet that over half of photos making their way onto the major internet outlets have been post processed in some program or another. I would also include a significant percentage of those uploaded to social media. Even major publications and advertising agencies have been found to alter their photographs of items and models.

If Kate wants to adjust her photos and post them, that is her decision and she should not be taken to task for it. Accept her photos and STFU.

Very unique and beautiful cars. The Falcon reminds me of one I saw in Minneapolis back in 1968. That one had very oversized slicks and wheelie bars on the back. Might have all been for show, I did not get a peek under the hood. I should have taken a picture but it was before my photography days and the days of cell phones.
