Amazing. My son lives in San Dimas and I just might have to take a side trip.

LOL ... “intervalometer”. Sounds like something that belonged next to the “flux capacitor”.

Personally if I still lived in CA, I would be supporting a quality brick n mortar camera shop. For me the only advantage to online was the omission of sales tax. However, that is no longer an issue. I now live in Southern Oregon where all stores have closed, and I really miss dropping into an actual store to browse and ask questions, and sometimes they would price match or get close to just by asking. And for you my friend there is Mikes Cameras in downtown Sac, an extension to the Mill Valley store I frequented years back.

RV Show? I do not remember that. Traditionally the winter months are about the gathering for one of the largest Gold,Gem, and Rock Show in the West. Years ago I would go prospecting in the NW corner of Arizona, and wrap up my vacation by heading to the show. But it has now been over a decade since, and understandably see the need for an RV sideshow. Was always a great time.

Wow. That is stunning. What an awesome talent. The owl is separate from the mount right?

There’s a good reason why I always carry as well. After taking the photos, I would have killed it. Too many of them take our pets, and small livestock.

Power, yup that can be an issue. When I’m on the road in my truck or RV, I always have enough power cords readily available. (For phones and iPads) I really haven’t found that the use of a reader in the field sucks much power. Or nowhere as much as my WiFi or signal search. Also if the conditions are a bit dirty (wind dust or sand) I won’t risk opening the flap to get the card out, and just resort to using the lighting to USB wire. But that uses camera batteries. So no matter what I / we do power is an issue. I’ve recently ordered a solar power pac where I should be able keep everything charged, and take my laptops too.

[quote=dukepresley]Bfree, I have a similar issue, except i shoot with a D700 using CF cards. I have not been able to find, on the Apple website, a device that accommodates CF cards. Fortunately, there is an Apple store near me, so I will check there. And there is a Best Buy in our city and Amazon is always handy. (Altho I did check Amazon, but was not successful -- there were some offerings, but none of them enjoyed stellar reviews.)
Appreciate your help!

Duke, Duke; My cameras now all use SD cards. I still have the CFreader, that served me well over the past years. However, I did find you a reader on Amazon that has good ratings 4.5 out of 5. Check it out

As with anything that is used, do your research, try (if you can) all the functions. If you can maybe even take a tablet or pad to download some photos onto a larger screen to look for any irregularities of the lens and or sensor. I’m only suggesting this because once money is exchanged.. it is yours, and no turning back. I too own the a6000 and love it. And will be adding a 85mm prime lens as soon as my retirement budget allows. Wishing you success.

There are flash drives that have a dual connection where you could do just that. Kingston is just one maker.

If your iPad charging cable is the narrow one, and not the wide 12pin you can load photos too. In fact with my older pads I have always had a cable to load cards directly to the iPad. If your near an apple store show them your pad and I’m sure they have an adapter to work. My nearest store is over 500mi away
