First of all let me say, for 10 years or so, I have used Amazon, and loved everything about doing business with them, EXCEPT on this one deal. I went to sell them a totally perfect Nikon 85mm micro DX, VR lens. I sent them a perfect lens with all the accessories and original box and papers. You could not tell from brand new. They sent it back saying it had light scratches and dust. I called them and they said someone must have made a mistake to resend it back to them. I did. Today I get it back saying it had hard usage. I looked at this lens with a microscope and could not find a single scratch anywhere or anything other than a brand new looking lens. I even checked the glass and found nothing. Am wondering if anyone else ever had a similar problem or any comments. They did give me a $50 credit for my troubles. It also cost them the freight four times. They were supposed to pay me first $296 the first time and $306 the second time. I could get that on Ebay! What do you think is going on? Thanks Bob

Hi Everybody and Merry Christmas: If you change the picture control settings, like contrast, saturation, etc on a Nikon D3300, in Program mode, do those same settings change automatically also in A,S,M or do you have to change them in each mode also? Awaiting to hear from our experts! Thanks Bob

Hi Everybody. I know next to nothing about close up photography. I need to take some close ups outdoors of things like flowers. What would you all recommend as a cheap, Nikon DX lens to do this. I have the 35mm, the 18X55mm and the 18X200 Nikon lens now. Can I get away with any of them or do I need to buy another? Could I not just use my existing lens and crop in real close? Do I need a VR lens? Any advise would sure be appreciated. Merry Christmas, Bob

To Papa Joe: Your suggestion, out of four pages, is so far the only one that fits what I am thinking to do. I think it is a great idea. I'm waiting to see if anyone else comes up with anything else that I think would fit what I'm wanting to do. To you and everyone else that responded, Thank You and have a Merry Christmas and a great New Year. Bob

I am a serious Christian who loves to take pictures. I want to take pictures with a Christian theme such as The Love of God, God's Power, Christ in the world. I don't want to take pictures of plants, flowers, animals, landscapes, crosses or churches. Some examples I have considered: Christian signs and sayings on road sides or sides of buildings, club colors on the backs of Christian motorcycle riders. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Blessings and Merry Christmas Bob

One of the fundamentals of the faith that define a Christian is a belief in the Trinity. He does not. His God is not your God. That is not something we can banter over! Bob

Thank you for a well written, balanced, thoughtful and Christ centered post. You approached all the issues, pro and con, from a very biblical, non off the wall, well thought out basis and I, for one, would agree with you on every single word you printed. It's refreshing and we need more of this on this site. Blessings and Have a Christ Centered Christmas to you and family. Bob

As I read your original post, I am having a hard time trying to figure you out. Most of what you say is just trash BUT you do make a really good statement about Jesus' life and resurrection. THEN you curse and say forget about Easter which is a celebration of the resurrection. I sense someone with a totally mixed up collection of theology that is really confused about what he believes. Remember that usually when you "discover" some new thoughts or ideas or theology that for thousands of years, the church fathers couldn't figure out, you are probably wrong. I hope you REALLY understand the one question that really counts: "WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?" Blessings and Merry Christmas, Bob

And thank you pastor for your testimony. I am ordained in the Conservative Baptist Assn of America which is the northern version of the SBC. I am presently a chaplain in a Florida prison. I am a deacon in a PCA very conservative branch of the Presbyterian church in which we use the words you listed every week. Nice knowing we have some real true believers on this forum. Blessings, Bob

Some thoughts on baptism: I am 73 years old. I was brought up in the Armenian Orthodox church and baptized as an infant by my parents. In my college days, I became a Baptist and got baptized as a believer by immersion. For some fifty years, I believed everything you just said and kind of still do. I thought the denominations that baptized infants were nuts because I did not see any clear evidences of it in scripture. After going to a Presbyterian church and reading much of their literature, I came to the conclusion that they are not nuts and have basis for their beliefs in infant baptism. It has much to do with convent theology and is much to complicated for me to get into here. Just know that there are some really fine theologians than can make a real good case for the infant baptism. I am excluding the RC church because they think they are forgiving original sin and that of course is nuts! I have been to conferences where guys like McArthur and Sproul (He just died) debated the issue for hours, both throwing verses at each other and no one coming to a clear win or loss. Well I was baptized as an infant. I was baptized as an adult. I have been to Israel seven times and once was baptized in the Jordan. I think I have it covered! I even have a tee shirt that I bought from some Jews in Israel that says, "I WAS BAPTISED IN THE JORDAN!" By the way, most of the Jordan River is one foot deep! Blessings: Bob

As I have been pondering over your question, I remember reading somewhere that Paul was a Presbyterian so he would have sprinkled and not immerse as the Baptist do. That would have made it much easier to just find a little water and do the sprinkle thing. Blessings: Bob All kidding aside, before I became chaplain at my prison, they went for years not having any baptisms of any kind of the new believers because there was no one that understood the command to be baptized. Blessings: Bob
