But most local retailers are well aware of prices on Amazon, B&H, Adorama, etc. I generally tell them the best price I've seen online, and ask them how close they can come, BEFORE they start taking out cameras or other equipment for me to handle. If they can come reasonably close, I buy locally. But I'm always honest with them from the moment I walk in the door. I also buy all of my film, printing, and consumable products from them if what I need is available there.

It will be a sad day when you can't walk into a local shop and find what you need.

It is and has been for several years here in Saint Petersburg, Florida. The only places we have are Best Buy, Sam's Club and Walmart. No Camera stores. Not much selection in any of the 3 stores.

I have wondered why the manufacturers don't just apply some heat to the cover of the sensors to keep the snow from building up.

That is a good suggestion. Additionally, since I spent much of my professional career on radar systems of various sorts, I can say that wet, heavy snow and serious rain storms will render a radar system unusable because the return signal come from all of the particles of snow and rain. It looks like a wall of reflections.

That is why the "Radar Obstructed" warning is displayed.

Beautiful bride, beautiful church with a classic door. What is there not to like? The subdued lighting adds to the tranquility of the photo.

Of course, and that's why everyone smiles when they see jokes and comments like this. It's the same situation with Florida, but they don't even have mountains that get snow. I think the highest point in FL is 8" above sea level.

My home is higher than that. If this old brain can recall, the highest elevation is 345 feet. My home is 16 feet, so with global warming, I may have beachfront property at some time in the future.

Yep. I and my travel buddy rented a car and drove up the center of Oahu and back down the east coast. Visited PCC and the Honolulu sights. Ate spears of fresh pineapple from the stands (can't do that any more--health NAZIs). Photos from 1965: https://www.flickr.com/photos/8712554@N02/collections/72157631716672816/.

Thanks for the memories!

The most popular tourist spot is on the north shore - the Polynesian Visitors Center (or something like that).

Polynesian Culture Center. Great place. From Honolulu, drive around Diamond Head and around the east side of the island. Stop at the Buddhist temple, then continue north to the Polynesian Culture enter. Great place for lots of photos. Don't use flash during the shows.

Young adult male lions also have no manes.

Young Male lions don't have manes yet, but the hair on top of the head would come up to a peak similar to a wildebeest (Gnu). The picture is of adult lioness.
As far as the camera, it may have fallen off a vehicle, since it is still on a tripod.

I'm 73 and loving shooting for football and hockey teams. My neuropathy is getting worse as time goes by and sometimes lose my balance when shooting these games. For football I stand on the side lines and have access to the entire field, hockey I use the bench (players area). I use a monopod for football and for hockey I lean on a support while standing in the bench area.
At football games I could go to the announcer booth by have a large flight of stairs to climb. Going up not bad, going down I need to take one step at a time and hold onto to both sides of the railings.
Just wondering to see what other photo guys do with this condition. I shoot with both eyes open so I have a reference to how I'm standing. If trying to aim and shoot with the camera up at the sky, forget it. I'd fall over like a ton of bricks.
Any new ideas or what you use to fight this condition. Thanking all and any who reply to this posting in advance.

At 8o years old, with type 2 diabetes, I take the best multivitamin Altrum Ultra Multi with iron(Not junk like Centrum silver) plus 5000 mcg of vitamin B12 (as Methyl cobalamin, not Cyanocobalamin [very important]) and 50mcg of Vitamin D3. My neuropathy has virtually disappeared and my balance is fine.

Suppose that asteroid that probably wiped out the dinosaurs had missed the earth. Would the dinosaurs have continued to thrive? They roamed the earth for about 165 million years. That's an incredibly long time. Humans have been around for just a fraction of that long. It is said that the demise of the dinosaurs gave mammals - like us humans - a chance to thrive. So, without that asteroid...

In that case, parents should have the right to ABORT at any age. That will put an end to it before it succeeds.

On a trip to Spain, I had my golf bag in a box to protect the bag. When I took the box from the carousel and turned, a weapon was put under my chin. Naturally, I froze. My niece stepped in and explained that the box contained golf clubs, then I had to open the bag, take out the clubs to show the Seville Guard that I was not a terrorist or member of "La ETA".

My hearing aids use the 312. Free from the VA. Hearing aids were also free from the VA.
