I installed Luminar 4.3 but it didn't install as a plug in to PS. Anyone else having that problem.

No issues here. I installed 4.3.0, then opened LR Classic, chose a RAW image and selected "edit with Luminar 4". Luminar opened up in the 4.3.0 version. Seems that LR picked up the latest version as it was put in the same place as Luminar's previous version.

I vote for the first one - the eye goes to the structure, no distraction from the green uniform background.

If you shoot raw you can afford to bracket wider exposures, in other words, at least +1 because you can recover more from the original exposure.

I concur. I shoot a 5 or 7 exposures bracket with 1 step difference - in RAW. There's no cost involved when you take multiple shots other than the post-processing step.

NO! I clearly stated in 1st post that I need to determine where to find the Registration Code. The link you were kind enuf to send is useless if I don't have the Reg. Code, which the link talks about & I still don'ttknow where to find it; which was my initial request for help. BTW, the effort you put in would most likely help for my model… but I don't have the i1 Display Pro, I have the i1 Display Pro Plus!

If you forget to change the White Balance fm the prev. setting of Cloudy, when it is Sunny & your pix will drive home the point of the importance of being detail oriented. You were nioe enuf to help, but twice your content showed you were not addressing my point. Thanks anyway 😃

I just got the same device, i1-Display Pro and ran into the same problem when trying to register on the software. Here's what finally worked for me - clicked on "register online", a link opened in a browser asking for S/N and registration code. These were shown in the software AFTER I clicked on "register online". I did copy and paste and it took.
Good luck.

While this may be a poor time to talk about taking a trip, I just made a purchase at COSTCO for my trips, and based on previous threads on UHH, I thought many of my fellow photographers might also have a use for it. This is a small, SanDisk 1 TB external SSD, that I expect to be my backup/external storage device on future trips. It measures 2” x3¾” x 1/4”; is very light weight; is advertised as rugged; and uses Type-C USB 3.1 connectivity. Included is a Type-C to Type-C cable and a Type-C to Type-A USB adapter. Read speed is “up to 550 MB/s. Price is $140.

The negative is that one should have two such devices on a trip for real backup, and I only bought one. My minister of finance may even question that purchase. ;-}

As I write this, the Amazon price is $200. They also offer the 2TB for $370 and say only one is in stock.

I use 2 SD cards, primary and a backup. I change both with new cards every couple of days while on a trip. Never had a failure on either slot. This is enough for me for backup purposes. This is on an Oly E-M1 Mk2. The Canon R has only one slot so for now I use only high quality cards such as Sony Tough.

I just went through the research process. Upgrading from a HD (1920X1080) Samsung monitor to a 4K. I ended with the Dell U2720Q which I got at their site for $485 + tax. This was a compromise that gets me what I want from a non-celebrity brand. I'll get the monitor tomorrow and can let you know how it works.

A word of caution - look at your graphics card to see if it will support the new monitors. Your old monitor is probably VGA but today's monitors require Display Port or HDMI connections on the graphics card. Your current card may not have these so include a card replacement cost in your considerations. Also see if the new monitor has a USB-C port, the current must-have connection.

Hi Sam,

It a good monitor, but perhaps spend a bit more and get a more outstanding monitor. The ASUS ProArt PA32UC. https://www.asus.com/us/Monitors/ProArt-PA32UC/

"ProArt PA32UC achieves wide color coverage to exceed industry standards by delivering 85% Rec. 2020, 99.5% Adobe RGB, 95% DCI-P3 and 100% sRGB. It features 14-bit color graphics to display more than 1.07 billion colors. It also uses a 14-bit internal lookup table and supports Gamma values of 2.6, 2.4, 2.2, 2.0, and 1.8 to produce natural-looking images with smoother transitions between hues."

If you process RAW using ProPhoto RGB, then you will love this monitor since it covers 85% of the Rec. 2020 color gamut. It covers all of the aRGB and sRBG gamuts. See image below. To do really better will cost buying a $4K+ monitor. Oh yes, B&H has a deal on buying a pair of them (which I am seriously thinking about doing to replace my 2K 32" Samsung monitors).

I'm looking to upgrade to a 4k monitor. Dell has now on sale the U2720Q which has decent specs.

Does anybody use this monitor? What's your impression?

Thanks for your help,

Sam
