Downloaded and blown up they look the same to me. The third photo is the sharpest.

I agree but I think the first photo is the best composition.

That’s a tad high but it’s unlikely that a steel belted radial would explode. I have an in-law who inflates his tires to the max value shown on the sidewalls - 55 psi as I recall for his car. I asked him to check his owner’s manual since the correct psi was probably 30 psi or so but he told me that his father was an engineer and he knew better. The gene didn’t pass. Anyway, handling must be interesting although I used to run relatively high pressures when autocrossing and it was an advantage. He will of course experience rapid center tread wear and poor traction on wet roads.

Maybe a typo in the Daily Freeman. For more about this which was the former Granit Hotel, and other former hotel sites in the Catskills, see: https://rcbizjournal.com/2023/08/16/failed-purchaser-of-palisades-hna-loses-hudson-valley-resort-in-legal-feud/

Evidently some of this is related to a dispute between two former partners.
On a related note: a few weeks ago we traaveled to attend a Borscht Belt Festival in Ellenville, NY where a Borscht Belt Museum is set to open in two years. At this event there were displays planned for the museum which will be housed in a former bank building. There were also lectures and other events celebrating the Borscht Belt Era.

I grew up near Ellenville during the Borscht Belt Era. There were two theaters with A/C in Ellenville so we often visited during the summer. The closest resort was the Nevele (11 spelled backwards).

That’s a ‘71-74 V12 XKE, not the original 6 cylinder. The tires don’t look right on the car but you often see whitewalls on late model Jags.

Great looking car. Suicide doors, pop-up headlights and split rear window all on one vehicle.

I’m not sure that photojournalism allows a lot of post processing.

There is a Ken Buen’s documentary, Horatio’s Drive, that is worth watching. Jackson never went back to collect the $50. Olds had a team trying to beat him but it failed.

It was mostly spent on repairs to the car. Some parts were shipped from the factory in Ohio. They tended to follow train tracks so they ordered by telegraph and parts were delivered by train. As I remember, they rebuilt the engine twice. The second driver with Jackson was a mechanic. Jackson himself was a doctor.
