I did a one layer HDR in Aurora. Took all of about 20 seconds. Here is what I got without doing any other Post Processing.

Aurora HDR, one layer, quick and painless

Are the dead trees from pine beetles? Hope not, they have mutilated our forest in Colo.

I used to live in WY, and anyone who lives there knows where 10 Sleep is. This photo looks somewhat like around Sedona. Not a lot of people in WY, that's why they live there. I wish I had stayed but the wife (now EX.) was going stir crazy because of the wide open spaces and quietness. I should have listened to the wind and dumped her instead of my job.

I calibrated all my lenses and now have excellent focus sharpness to the point that I very rarely need to sharpen with PP. No brag, just take my time when setting up the composition and ensuring good DoF and focus.

Ask UHH management if they could create a sub site for 18 and under.

That would be unique and really cool. They could have something other than the garbage on Facebook and the other social mess. My grandkids would love it.

Great shots of the art project. Even though the general population didn't want these (due to some past huge mistakes in judgement) they are mostly privately financed. Breck does not need anymore tourism than it already has. The place is like an ant hill, especially in the summer. Now the crowds are overly noisy, the sounds of Harley's are mind scrambling, and the smell of diesel is everywhere. What used to be a really nice place to vacation is now just another super crowed mountain ski town. We sold our condo there in 1998 and built our cabin on the east side of Hoosier Pass just 5 miles west of FairPlay, which is still a very sleepy town with one stoplight.

Each time we were up there we parked the car and did a lot of walking/hiking. Pharaoh Peaks on a long hike from the Sun Shine Ski Lodge just west of Banff will give you some of the most awe inspiring photo ops in your life. Also, there are many other hikes that will offer unbelievable scenery. Otherwise you will see the same scenes that 95% of the people see. Get out of the car, start walking and see what nature conjures up for you.

If you have a camera that you can store calibration sets, then you can go to- https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1187638 - and look at the DotTune: New AF tune technique. It gives excellent instructions written and by video.

You might want to calibrate your lens. The reflection pic is all out of focus and the bird is on the back end of the focus. Also, with the bird, too much similarities of the bird color vs tree color. You cannot do much with that.

Take both, Z6 with 14-30mm, and the D7200 with the 18-300. The Z6 with the 14-30 will be good for the landscapes and the D7200 with the zoom for the Stampede. READ, READ, AND TEST WITH THE Z6 LOTS BEFORE YOU GO. I have done the mountains and the rodeos and from my experience this is the best combo to get thru your travels. If you have a monopod, use it especially at the rodeo. Happy clicking. Sounds like a great trip.

I have a request for everyone putting scenery shots on here...please put where you took them! There are places that I'd like to visit and I can find some of them on the net but it would be so much simpler if y'all would put a city or state where these can be found. Thanks!!!

I did say Portland, OR. Hope this helps the second time around.

Back in the late ‘60’s, we were able to hike to the very top of the falls; I’ve never seen photos from that perspective, so I think at some point, they stopped allowing that. Any one else remembers-or is age fogging my memory?

My wife hiked all the way to the top on the path, she has two new knees and was testing them out. When she reached the top, the view from where she could see down was not good for taking in the falls (she says and who am I to question). So she never took any photos except on the way up. I could not tell you if there was any good photo ops since she did not take any.

Affinity Photo is not free, they probably offer a free trial like most other software.
I've never heard of using Affinity for focus stacking but it may have that capability.
If you are serious about focus stacking look at Zerene Stacker and Helicon Focus.
Both offer free trials and are the most popular stacking software packages.

Affinity is on sale right now for about $39.00 and no charge for upgrades. It does regular stacking, focus stacking, HDR stacking and stitching.

I am amazed by how many people give advice who have never used the product in question and suggest other apps even when the op did not ask for it. At least you answered the question about free sw.

I have a D750 with 24mp and it takes about 5 seconds to load 3 of those files into Aurora HDR. It might be your computer.
