Going next week, to Canadian Rockies, Glacier Nat'l Pk., Banff, Lake Louise and the Calgary 'Stampede'.
Have D-7200 with 18-300,16-80,35mm, and a (just purchased and learning) Z6 with 24-70, 14-30, and FZX converter.
Appreciate recommendations as to Camera(s) and lenses to take
Ideally only want to take one camera.
Any suggestions as to camera settings, filters, etc., would be appreciated.
Thank you so much.... Ken

Take both, Z6 with 14-30mm, and the D7200 with the 18-300. The Z6 with the 14-30 will be good for the landscapes and the D7200 with the zoom for the Stampede. READ, READ, AND TEST WITH THE Z6 LOTS BEFORE YOU GO. I have done the mountains and the rodeos and from my experience this is the best combo to get thru your travels. If you have a monopod, use it especially at the rodeo. Happy clicking. Sounds like a great trip.

Since you just got the Z6, you should take it to get some awesome landscapes. I agree also that you should take the D7200 with the 18-300 as that is the camera you are most familiar with, and occasionally will need the reach.

To the OP, I realize this is not germane to your original question but I strongly recommend you drive farther north than what you indicated in your post you were going to do, including the entire north - south areas of Banff and Jasper National Parks, so basically from Banff to Jaspar on the Icefields Parkway, and do side excursions such as to Moraine and Maligne Lakes for example. I have traveled extensively with an emphasis on mountain country and this is the most beautiful alpine scenery I have ever seen. The photo ops are almost endless.

Best answer to your question: Bill's....D7200, 18-300, polarizer.

Enjoy your trip...learn your new gear at home.

I agree with Wanderer2. The road to Jasper and surroundings are a must.

I did this trip one year ago. You definitely need wide angle for the scenery
. That and my 18-200 lens was all I needed on my Sony 6300.

Did much of what you will be seeing a few years ago. Lugged a ton of equipment around and mostly used my (then) trusty D750 with a 24-70 lens. Did get a (very) few wildlife shots with something longer though.

I did similar travel in 2013, combining the AMTRAK Chicago-Seattle tour (with 4 days in Glacier NP) with a Canada Rail tour. I shot the entire trip with my D7000 wearing the 18-200VR lens. It was all I needed.

Absolutely a POLARIZER. Know how to use it. Better color and skies.
