They contract for nude modeling?

Not all of them. But the Model Mayhem database gives you a large variety of options from which to choose, including whether they model nude.

I suggest joining Model Mayhem. I just checked and there are 888 female models in NOLA. DM me if I can help more. NOLA native here.

Wonderful story and photos. Please consider sharing this with the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden.

For the love of God, stay the eff away from HP. It’s entire business has gone downhill. Their customer and tech support are now virtual and AI. Other posters have given the OP good advice, too.

As for me, my desktop is a custom-built one from seven years ago and the guy who did it for me “future-proofed” it nicely. If I would seek an off-the-shelf computer, I’d look hard as ASUS.

Glad to see you back, Tim. Was worried about you.

Let me jump in here with two points which I hope are helpful since we run down to Rockport often.

The last whooping crane festival to which we went a few years ago, the organizers managed the boat tours. Not to dispute about Capt. Tommy; just saying he may not be in the organized mix.

We've been going to Charlotte Plummers on and off for more than 20 years and recently their food has not been as good as it used to be. We have found Moondog's delicious as recently as three weeks ago. The Shack, a little hole in the wall, is also good, but it's closed on Wednesday.

I assume you’ve found the website: https://www.portaransas.org/whooping-crane-festival/

These points are important:

Winter Birding Guidelines

Applies to Trail Use October 30–April 30 (or when Whooping Cranes are present):

Nature Preserve ordinance rules always apply, including but not limited to: open sunrise to sunset; no fishing, hunting, or gathering of any natural materials; no littering; no injuring or harming wildlife; no pets.

Visitors must stay 1000 feet from Whooping Cranes. They should never be approached or disturbed. If you see Whooping Cranes within 1000 feet of the trail, please do not enter the trail.
If visitors are already on a trail and whooping cranes are within 1000 feet, they should stop, remain quiet, and observe their behavior.
If the Whooping Cranes become alert, raise their heads, and stop foraging—you are too close. Turn around if possible or wait and allow the whooping cranes to establish a safe distance before proceeding.
If the cranes do not seem bothered, you may proceed with caution. Walk slowly and remain quiet. If biking or running, walk slowly through the area.
If rules are not followed and cranes are not safe, trail closures may occur. If trail closures occur, guided walks will be available.

Amelia’s Landing is spartan but the people who run it are nice. We like Finn’s Grill and Icehouse (https://finsgrillandicehouse.com/) and Irie’s (https://iriesislandfood.com/) for food. The U of Texas Marine Science Institute is good.

The wait for the ferry between Port A and Aransas Pass can be up to an hour during rush times. You can access waiting times and other information:

https://www.txdot.gov/content/txdot/en/driver/travel/ferry-schedules.html

Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center is good — easy access — and run by the city”

https://www.portaransas.org/things-to-do/nature-and-parks/leonabelle-turnbull-birding-center/

You’ll need either a car or to rent a golf cart for getting around Port A. I’d call ahead since the festival is a big deal. I found the photo seminar we attended to be good, with the expert seminar leader's photos to be astounding.

We didn’t do the boat trip and if I go again, I would.

I am sorry if I come across as bitchy, but the internet and Google are your friend. If you know how to be on UHH, you surely know how to do an internet search.

So, here’s a hint: the BBB, which is useless normally, has posts on it that show many unresolved issues and that this business isn’t accredited. A Google search shows 2.5 stars for 69 reviews.

I really like helping fellow UHHers, but is it too much to expect a minimum level of competence on such basic stuff?

My wife and I lived in Amarillo for 14 years but left five years ago. Two days is more than enough for Palo Duro Canyon. The most iconic trail there is known as the Lighthouse Trail, which is considered a moderate hike. Lucky for you that the canyon is a state park and has a website with plenty of information.

Just stay away from H-P products. Once the best on the market, the firm no longer makes reliable quality products.

The initial planned trips were flying into Sante Fe, then a "circular" tour NE, N, NW then down to Albuquerque; flying back out of Sante Fe. Your reference to accommodations refers to Sante Fe itself or the surrounding areas?

There are some folks on UHH who live in New Mexico who could chime in on this. That said, if the Lege is in session, lodging will be tight in the area. I don’t know where you’re flying from, but were I you, I’d fly into ABQ said rent a car there. Fares will be better into a larger airport.

Santa Fe is "The City Different." I would not love Santa Fe nearly as much if it was "normal." That said, here's a Google search link that would help.

https://www.google.com/search?q=santa+fe+cvb&oq=santa+Fe+cvb&aqs=chrome.0.0i512j0i22i30l5j0i390l3.4502j0j15&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

One thing you should also check is whether the Legislature is in session during your time frame. If so, accomodations will be tight.
