That's a tough call. I'd take a chance on the generic toner, depending on reviews. If you can get the printer for $25, you might be able to sell it for twice that price at your own yard sale.

It does work, right?

I once bought something at a yard sale, and I had to have it repaired, although the seller said that it worked. I forget what it was, but it was worth having it repaired. I think it was an IBM Selectric typewriter, and the repair didn't cost much at all.

I ordered a new cordless mouse so I would have one less wire to deal with. Thinking it would be better because it had a higher model number and a higher price, I ordered the Logitech M705. I'm not thrilled with this. In standard form, the wheel spins freely, which means the cursor or page moves more than I want it to when I use the wheel. I discovered that pushing on the top button adds clicks to the wheel, but they are so faint that I wasn't sure they were there. I think I'm going to return this and get an M505, which I've used before.

If any of you use the M705, I be glad to hear your opinions.

As posted last week, I had to reinstall Win 11 and recover all my settings, data and apps. At this point I believe full recovery and restore are 95% complete. My mouse has been a bit erratic, so I visited Win 11 mouse settings. I played with a few settings for a couple of days, but the behavior was still slow and erratic. About 15 minutes ago I decided to DUH - CHANGE THE BATTERIES! I had erroneously assumed the reinstallation of the OS was the cause of the weird behavior. Voila!! Think simple first!

I have an excuse I can use - I just had my 87th birthday last week. Thinking simply is not automatic!!

I was in a Wawa, (for those who do not know what that is, it is one of the new class of gas stations with 12 to 24 pumps and a store of about 8000 sq. ft. that sells enormous amounts of coffee, sodas, beer, snack food, and a kitchen that makes everything from salads to burgers, to pizza) a group of 7 or 8 kids from around 9 to 12 came in and left in about three minutes. A customer pointed out to the cashier that they had grabbed stuff and just walked out with it. Yea, the cashier said, it happens every day. The mayor and police know about it and won't do a thing. Please note: I did not mention the kid's color, the party affiliation of authorities, or anything that would be considered political. It is just an observation. I'm thinking more of the moral conduct of our society and how it seems to be crumbling.
