I want to learn more about PS CC from a book so I can read slowly to understand. Also, do you know the best book to learn tricks in PS cc?
Thanks

Scott Kelby has a number of "How do I do X in Y" books for Photoshop and Lightroom.

I use Lightroom 15 for most of my editing, but I occasionally like to do further editing in Elements. I also have Faststone Image Viewer on my computer, which I use rarely, but would prefer to keep. When I am in Lightroom and attempt to edit a photo in Photoshop Elements (using the command "Edit a copy with Lightroom adjustments"), Lightroom creates a Fastone image (even if I try to create a jpeg or tiff file). Most of the editing commands in Elements will not work with a Fastone image (in particular, the "levels" commands.) I have tried every variation of the "Edit In" command in Lightroom, but the results are the same. I suspect that the problem would go away if I deleted Faststone from my computer, but I would prefer not to. Any other suggestions?

Are you on a Windows computer? I wonder if perhaps the operating system has configured itself to have FastStone as the default program for opening JPEG files? I don’t believe that FastStone has its own file format.

I'll be going to Banff , Jasper and Icefield Parkway in mid June. I'm 81 yrs young and limited by COPD, Bad back (Post surgery) and am in recovery from radiation treatments and weakness inducing hormone therapy for cancer. My bad balance and the above makes anything much longer than 1 mile round trip on a mostly improved (smooth) path difficult. ( My rock hopping days are over until the darned hormone treatments wear off). Given my shortcomings, what landscape photo opportunities are likely to be within my reach?

iDrive is an additional product. One account can back up multiple devices. I backup my MacBook, wife's iMac and my Windows PC.

Basil....

Did you give any thought to the fact that only select lens will work with "focus stacking"

Check the below link... Just a thought

Let me know if this helps

The first set of images (my coin) used the camera's focus bracketing and I aligned the images in Photoshop just fine.

Can you identify what changed between them then? Were all camera settings the same?

Yes.

Images shot with focus bracketing using the camera tool (not manually focused) may only be editable using Canon DPP4.

Give Canon a call at 1-800-OK-CANON. You may need to register your camera first.

Ok, so I wanted to play around with focus bracketing. After watching a few videos and how to do layer alignment and layer blending in PS, my first attempt seemed to come out ok, but my second attempt did not work so well. In the first two images, the first is a single image (R5 with 85mm f/2 @ f5.6) with the focus on the front of the coin. The second image is a composite of several images shot using the built in focus bracketing and the aligned and stacked in PS.

However for the second set of images, I could NOT get the focus point to move off the first bottle using focus bracketing no matter what I did. The resulting image was made by taking a series of images and manually moving the focus point. (Im going to post the images in a reply to this post because I don't want this post moved to gallery).

Any ideas why, in the image of the bottles, I could not get the focus point to move off the first bottle when using focus bracketing?

As previously stated I’ve let the printer manage colors Not Lightroom.

I know, but you’re getting a blue tint. I'm suggesting to try letting Lightroom manage color with settings I showed and see if that addresses the problem.

Thanks! I use controlled by driver but will select none and try that.

If you are selecting the profile in Lightroom you don't want to select it also in the driver. That is called double profiling. It frequently causes magenta tint but may be what is causing the blue tint.

Hey y’all! Asking any Hogs who own this printer. I’ve had this printer about a month and it has a blue cast to all the print images! My monitor is calibrated. I use Canon paper and proper profiles. I print using Lightroom. I’ve run the head cleaning utility. I have to turn the blue slider in Lightroom All the way down and the printer will print an acceptable image. Any ideas? I have to print a sample image and adjust before I can print a 13X19 image. I’m running out of the Expensive ink!

That shouldn't be. You said you ran the head cleaning utility; did you run a nozzle check afterwards?

Print this test image: https://1drv.ms/i/s!ApNpngg2Z6dbhIYEVaNQBuYp2nUaWg?e=UnzGUB

Open image in Lightroom. Do not make any adjustments. Set the sliders in LrC to "0".

You could also give Canon a call at 1-800-OK-CANON.

I called Canon support. They had no idea what the problem is. I had the printer plugged into an APC surge protector / battery backup. They told me to plug it directly into the wall and see what happens. If this doesn't work, I will have to go through the exchange program again. (This is my second printer that they just exchanged last month. The last one threw an error code that they knew right away the machine was a paper weight.) I have to give them credit, they aim to please and will do what they have to.

PS ~ No, I did not get a pop up window to update the printer.

Thank you all for your suggestions.

I have a Pro-100. When I click OK it asks if I want to update the printer. Otherwise the setting never gets to the printer.
