I use Lightroom 15 for most of my editing, but I occasionally like to do further editing in Elements. I also have Faststone Image Viewer on my computer, which I use rarely, but would prefer to keep. When I am in Lightroom and attempt to edit a photo in Photoshop Elements (using the command "Edit a copy with Lightroom adjustments"), Lightroom creates a Fastone image (even if I try to create a jpeg or tiff file). Most of the editing commands in Elements will not work with a Fastone image (in particular, the "levels" commands.) I have tried every variation of the "Edit In" command in Lightroom, but the results are the same. I suspect that the problem would go away if I deleted Faststone from my computer, but I would prefer not to. Any other suggestions?

I'll be going to Banff , Jasper and Icefield Parkway in mid June. I'm 81 yrs young and limited by COPD, Bad back (Post surgery) and am in recovery from radiation treatments and weakness inducing hormone therapy for cancer. My bad balance and the above makes anything much longer than 1 mile round trip on a mostly improved (smooth) path difficult. ( My rock hopping days are over until the darned hormone treatments wear off). Given my shortcomings, what landscape photo opportunities are likely to be within my reach?

Ok, so I wanted to play around with focus bracketing. After watching a few videos and how to do layer alignment and layer blending in PS, my first attempt seemed to come out ok, but my second attempt did not work so well. In the first two images, the first is a single image (R5 with 85mm f/2 @ f5.6) with the focus on the front of the coin. The second image is a composite of several images shot using the built in focus bracketing and the aligned and stacked in PS.

However for the second set of images, I could NOT get the focus point to move off the first bottle using focus bracketing no matter what I did. The resulting image was made by taking a series of images and manually moving the focus point. (Im going to post the images in a reply to this post because I don't want this post moved to gallery).

Any ideas why, in the image of the bottles, I could not get the focus point to move off the first bottle when using focus bracketing?

I called Canon support. They had no idea what the problem is. I had the printer plugged into an APC surge protector / battery backup. They told me to plug it directly into the wall and see what happens. If this doesn't work, I will have to go through the exchange program again. (This is my second printer that they just exchanged last month. The last one threw an error code that they knew right away the machine was a paper weight.) I have to give them credit, they aim to please and will do what they have to.

PS ~ No, I did not get a pop up window to update the printer.
